Burbank didn't used to be like this.

The film industry in Los Angeles is hurting and for many, it’s more than an industry downturn. It’s a livelihood, a community, and the place they’ve called home for years.

Young people entering the industry are struggling. Families in the middle class are struggling. Small businesses are struggling. We’re all feeling it.

But asking one group of struggling Californians to simply bail out another isn’t the answer. The middle class has spent years working, paying taxes, supporting local businesses, and building lives here. They shouldn’t be left carrying the burden alone.

Sacramento needs to step up with real solutions.

California cannot afford to lose the people who built their lives here or the next generation who are now considering leaving because they no longer see a future here.

We don’t need more excuses. We need a plan to bring the industry back, protect working Californians, and make sure Los Angeles remains a place where people can afford to build a life.

The Safari Inn has been a Burbank landmark for decades, appearing in films like Apollo 13 and Lethal Weapon, along with shows like @themorningshow and @desphousewivestv

Hollywood is already struggling to keep productions in California.
If high-density apartment towers become the backdrop of iconic filming locations, will studios still choose Burbank to shoot here?

Once the character of these locations is gone, it’s not easy to get back.

Your City Council can push back, but only if they know the community stands with them.

Show up Wednesday, May 20 at 3PM at Burbank City Hall.

This is your neighborhood. Your voice matters.
