“One of my favorite aspects of the Dominican Culture is the deep-rooted importance we place on family and bonding. Our celebrations and family gatherings are full of life reflecting the love and joy we share as a community. Music and dance, specifically bachata and merengue, serve as beautiful expressions of our heritage, allowing us to connect and celebrate our shared memories.”

“Bloomsburg has provided me with a wonderful platform to celebrate and promote my culture on campus through the clubs and organizations in the @bloomsburgoma. As a member of the executive board of @bloomu_sol, I had the privilege of helping organize a festival for Hispanic Heritage Month, which was truly heartwarming as I witnessed our community come together in celebration. I’m passionate about raising awareness for minorities at our school, and seeing other clubs engage in similar initiatives fills me with joy and hope. Together, we are fostering a more inclusive environment that honors our diverse backgrounds and experiences.” — Ayary Abreu ’27 🌞🇩🇴🐾 #HispanicHeritage #HuskyLife #BloomOnward #campus #community
