August 14 2026 was pitch day for @mokooriginals at @craft_and_design_institute , and somewhere between the the big ideas and the “okay, let’s do this” energy, We remembered something important: If you’re building the future, you might as well dress like you’re already there. We went in to talk about where Moko Originals is going — from Tembisa to travel, lifestyle, tourism and the world. Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that you don’t build alone. My hustle is rooted in craftsmanship, community and the belief that world-class products can come from the kasi. Through Moko Originals, we design and manufacture handcrafted leather goods inspired by African heritage and made for the everyday Afropolitan. From the Tembisa community, this journey has been about building a brand that represents quality, pride and South African manufacturing. Kasi culture is about resilience, creativity and turning an idea into something real with your hands. Every product we make carries that spirit. If I win this funding, it will go towards expanding production, sourcing more materials locally and growing Moko Originals into a stronger South African manufacturing brand that creates opportunities and jobs. #MokoOriginals
