Once upon a time, festivals got me back into sewing AND gave me the chance to move my interior design training into designing environments🤘
With the announcement of LN giving @bonnaroo a “fallow year” I was thinking of how grateful I am for the festivals I’ve gotten to attend. I can’t think of a single other experience that encourages creativity & joy without judgement like a (camping) festival (day fests are fine - they’re just a totally different animal). From the annual push to create at LEAST 4 unique, vibrant looks that held up to the weather & dancing all night, to designing campgrounds & nonprofit pavilions, to helping others create the fit of their dreams, being a festival mom was one of the most creatively powerful rituals I gladly tackled every year. I miss it. I miss dancing & I miss being just unbothered, kind, and delightedly awed - nowhere to be, no one needing me (and a costume that made me feel magical)❤️

Bonnaroo may be taking a year off, but the community it built doesn’t pause. David Bruce (@iambonnaroo) on the friendships that outlast any single festival. #bonnaroo #thewhatpodcast #bonnaroo2027

What does a year without Bonnaroo mean for the town that hosts it? We asked David Bruce (@iambonnaroo) and Manchester city official @ryanpfrench. The economic ripple runs deep, but so does the hope for 2028. Link in bio!

Mr. David Bruce, @iambonnaroo ladies and gentlemen. I’ve had the absolutely pleasure of working with you for nearly my entire career with the legislature. One of the most naturally cool individuals I have ever been around and happy to call a friend. Your style, influence and heart holds no bounds on those around you. The impact you leave on people matters more than the duration of the encounter. Short interactions can change a day, while long relationships can shape a lifetime. I can truly say there is no one like you. Thank you for all the inspiration. Enjoy your retirement. #x100vi #bw #iambonnaroo

I couldn’t be more grateful for my Roo fam ❤️ it was such a magical way to kick off Logs summer. Everyone was bringing the ENERGY @ 3am on Sunday. Here are some videos taken by the one and only @chrisjcrosby Lots of content and shows coming up. Can’t wait for a double header this weekend and DIRCUS this past weekend was EPIC. I’ll be back at @liquidstatebeer this Sunday 4-8 with friends for a $3 show. Come through! 8 DJs, 2 stages, and we’re ending off with a beatbox battle

It’s hard to explain Bonnaroo to someone who’s never been, but David Bruce (@iambonnaroo) has mastered the art of it through his photography. From his first time at the festival in 2011 to now, he’s collected a deep portfolio that perfectly captures the essence of this one-of-a-kind festival.

Watch above to hear his story.
