What is the true state of Hip Hop and where is the culture headed next?

Five voices came together for an honest conversation about Hip Hop’s impact, ownership, authenticity, and future.

We discussed:

• Whether Hip Hop has empowered or damaged Black communities
• Whether Hip Hop still belongs to Black culture
• The different standards applied to men and women
• When storytelling becomes glorification
• Creative freedom versus moral responsibility
• The divide between older and younger generations
• Whether AI represents evolution or threatens authentic artistry

There were different perspectives, disagreements, and no easy answers. That was the point.

Watch The Conversation: The State of Hip Hop on We Create Music TV, then tell us:

How would you describe the current state of Hip Hop and why?

Been on the road towards my debut album, HeART Museum, my entire life and didn’t know it.

I was told I couldn’t sing in my high school choir.

Years later, I became a professional opera singer, only to be spiritually led back to the music and roots I was once told weren’t for me.

I went from never writing a song to creating HeART Museum, the first eight songs I ever wrote and produced.

In this conversation with @iambvaughan and @wecreatemusictv, I talk about the experiences, training, and spiritual journey that brought me to this album and helped me find and trust my voice.

Leaders often miss the real issues because they don't truly listen. Employees feel unheard, leading to frustration and disengagement. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. That's the key to trust and effective leadership. #LeadershipSkills #EffectiveCommunication #Empathy #Teamwork #ProfessionalDevelopment #ListenToUnderstand #FranklinCovey #7Habits #BuildTrust #ReelsTips
