Some of my favorite memories from the best day ever 🤍

— Seeing my beautiful best friends standing beside me as my bridesmaids. Handwritten notes, heartfelt speeches, calming my nerves, fluffing my dress, and holding me through every moment. I felt so deeply seen and cared for just like I do every day because of them 🩷

— Getting ready with my mom and nieces as the excitement built in the moments before walking down the aisle. They kept telling me how beautiful I looked and that I “looked like a princess.” Their excitement was something I had been looking forward to the most. I will carry that sweetness with me forever 🥹

— My bridesmaids reaction to our first look 🤍

— Our wedding party made up of family and lifelong friendship. Jake chose his brothers as his groomsmen, his dad as his best man and @matt.higgins who has been such a constant friend and leader in his life

— Getting ready with my mom, Mia, and new mom @iamdanafox !! She is truly one of the greatest blessings and I feel so incredibly lucky to call her my mother in law 🩷

— Dancing with Jake and all of our best friends all night !!

— Our private vows after the ceremony. Having a moment just for us was so special and something I will treasure forever

— Inviting all the other fathers and daughters to join during my first dance with my dad. Watching the room fill with love is a moment I will never forget 🥲

— little Mia OWNING the dance floor !!! She kept telling me how “everyone loves my moves”

— Our sparkler exit!! It was so fun to see everyone from all different parts of our lives come together to cheer us on at once ✨

Circling back to two weeks ago

Honor of a lifetime getting to be a part of my brother @jakefox’s big day. Him and @mccraefoxx are two of the best people I know, and they’re even better together. Prayed a lot for Jake for a lot of reasons through his time in high school and beyond, and never could’ve prayed for a better wife for him than Mccrae. The wedding was a picture of who they are, people from different seasons of life and contexts.

I found out I was a groomsman for their wedding from Mccrae… when she asked Jake if he’d already told me, he said “yeah, I told Matt he was going to be in my wedding when I was in high school.” It’s a funny story and very Jake, but it’s a testament to my favorite part about life: longevity with people through ups, downs, and everything in between.

In ministry you lean into a lot of people, and not everybody leans back in. But days like this remind me that you can’t reap without sowing.

A couple of highlights that got my tear ducts going this past weekend: 1) @rally_fox sharing at the rehearsal dinner that he grew up being known as “Jake’s little brother” and that he couldn’t imagine a bigger honor than that title. 2) a letter from Mccrae she wrote early on in their dating relationship for Jake to read on his wedding day. Are you kidding me.

Over the years Jake’s brothers have become brothers to me, his family feels like my family. I try to it make a mark of my life that I invite a lot of people into mine, and I’ll never get over the honor, joy, and privilege it is when I get invited back into theirs.

Weekend getaway in Michigan on Indian Lake with my dear friend, @iamdanafox. Plan on finishing a book here, lots of fun times ahead!!!

It’s 29 degrees outside on day 2 at my dear friend’s, @iamdanafox Michigan cottage. And I’m happily snuggled upstairs with my laptop, cup of coffee and headphones on.
I’m ready. Operation Jewels, prepare to be done this weekend.

Day #3 of my Michigan cottage retreat at my dear friend’s @iamdanafox house. It snowed!!!!

I was hoping it would snow for us and God delivered!!

Hoping for a great writing day!!!

This has been such a productive weekend. 8,300 words written and I’m in such a good place with my story.
This companion novel was supposed to be a novella but it turned into a novel last year. I stopped writing it to write Tidal and now I’m back to finishing it.
And I thought of an awesome ending!!!

Our very first No Broken Hearts Teen Ball was a HUGE success!!! We almost sold out, but really we had the perfect amount of teens there.

I can’t tell you how many times I heard how much fun they had and I LOVED hearing that!!

Every teen got a “Clean” book with their ticket and my authors and booksellers handed out tons of books!!!

This whole event was to promote “Clean” book literacy and I think this event did that.

Now, time to plan the next event!! I’m thinking maybe a Masquerade Fantasy Ball in October…:))))
