Giving Thanks: The Power of Gratitude

Gratitude is more than saying “thank you.” It is a practice of recognizing what is present, even while we continue working toward what is next.

Sometimes we become so focused on what we still need to accomplish that we forget to honour how far we have already travelled. We overlook the people who supported us, the lessons hidden inside difficult seasons, the doors that opened—and even the doors that closed for our protection or redirection.

Giving thanks shifts our attention from “What am I missing?” to “What is already here?”

That shift can change the energy of an entire day.

Gratitude invites us to slow down. To appreciate another sunrise. A conversation with someone we love. Food on the table. A body that continues carrying us. Another opportunity to learn, heal, create, serve and grow.

And gratitude doesn't mean pretending everything is perfect. You can be grateful and still want change. You can give thanks while healing. You can appreciate today while building a better tomorrow.

Take a moment today and ask yourself:

What are three things I can genuinely give thanks for right now?

Name them. Feel them. Give thanks for them.

Because sometimes abundance isn't about receiving something new—it is about finally recognizing the value of what is already present.

Give thanks. Stay present. Keep growing.

A beautiful celebration of the life and legacy of our founder, Louis March, and the Zero Gun Violence Movement. 🤍🕊️

Sharing stories and memories of Louis while playing Ludi, enjoying dominoes, and breaking bread together felt exactly right—celebrating him “Louis Style.” ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Louis’ family for sending everyone home with keepsakes that belonged to Louis. It was such a meaningful gesture, and we are truly grateful. 🙏🏽

Louis may be gone, but his vision and legacy continue to inspire us every day.

We are still standing. We are still fighting. ✊🏾

This was the first annual memorial of many more to come. Stay tuned as we continue to grow, honour Louis’ legacy, and work together toward a future of zero gun violence. 💯

We start with a moment of silence for all those lost to senseless gun violence 🙏🏽

Today June 5/2026 is the National Day Against Gun Violence in Canada.

The annual observance was spearheaded in 2023 by Masai Ujiri, John Wiggins, Louis March, Danny Stone and many partnering community organizations - supported by Justin Trudeau The Government of Canada officially proclaimed it in May 2023.

We thank all who put in the effort to make this day official. @masaiujiri @fdf.foundation @iamdannystone @justinpjtrudeau and all organizations involved 👏🏾

To date, there has been a significant drop in gun violence in the city of Toronto and this is a result of many people doing impactful work everyday ✊🏾👏🏾 please recognize and celebrate the work everyone is doing, it’s not unnoticed 🙏🏽

Thank you to everyone in this video @dymikaharte @royalty_helpinghands @g.l._glowz @officialthirty3_ @21kydd your impactful words are appreciated

Happy anniversary my love @iamdannystone 😘

Each anniversary is such a beautiful reminder of how much our love has grown, deepened, and carried us through every season together.

Thank you for always being my source of strength, peace, laughter, happiness… and honestly, sometimes my sanity too. 🫶🏽

Thank you for loving me the way that you do — so patiently, so fully, and so consistently.

Your support means more to me than words could ever express and you always stand beside me with love and encouragement, and I never take that for granted.

I’m so grateful that God gave me you to love. ❤️
Another year down, forever to go.
Happy Anniversary @iamdannystone 😘
