Madly in 🫶 with Jesus!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I can't believe it's been 12 years 🥹! We were just two young people that loved Jesus and became close friends. I never thought this guy would be my husband.

We spent our anniversary weekend at the lake during a beautiful and much needed marriage retreat. We were given tools to communicate in a healthy way during hard conversations.

I'm truly thankful that we stuck it out during hard times... We've been through a lot and I'm so thankful to The Most High for being the glue. Marriage takes work, intentionally and dying to selfishness. We're still learning, growing and maturing. I always said I don't only want a happy marriage but I want a Holy one... I don't want one that appears perfect but one that glorifies Him even in our imperfections. 12 years went by so fast... I pray the next 12 and the years to follow are a testimony of His goodness, mercy and faithfulness.

I'm not a marriage professional or the perfect wife but I want to encourage someone with this...

To those that desire marriage... that desire is beautiful however allow The Most High to work on your heart and focus on Him more than the desire to be married... bc marriage or the idea of marriage can be an idol... allow Him to heal those deep places from past relationships, betrayals, childhood trauma, etc... and ask Him to do spiritual heart surgery...

To those that are engaged... focus more on preparing for the marriage than the wedding... I highly suggest solid biblical counseling TOGETHER.

To those that are married... Never compare your marriage to other couples. Focus on and water your own grass... & always invite the Holy Spirit in BEFORE a challenge...yielding to the Holy Spirit during and even after will shield you from the enemy planting seeds of miscommunication and bitterness towards your spouse. The enemy loves to destroy marriages... but it's not always the enemy, sometimes it's us... if we allow our flesh to do what it wants, it just won't work.

I'll share what someone said many years ago. She said, "remember you're both on the same team." Fight together not one another... Although you're two different people, there's ways to lovely respect one another and honor the differences..
