Dear Father - Editor’s Cut

The original concept for Dear Father can be found here -@sincerelyoluwa .

This concept of Dear Father is solely from my point of view.

The Editor’s cut of Dear Father focuses on emphasizing the relationship between the Father in Heaven and the son expressing his pain. A shift of emotional response from father to the son’s words can be visualized through the use of non-traditional camera cuts, emphasizing a shift in perspective. Subtitles and b-roll were selected to emphasize the words the son conveys as he expresses his pain he experienced through his relationship with his earthly father and the father’s growing discomfort as the poem continues. The Son’s perspective is revealed, showing the earthly father was never present, and through the relationship with Christ, he was able to move on.

Project Responsibilities for the original work:

Director of Photography, Video Capture, Colorist, Co-editor, production sound mixer

Huge shoutout to @0luwa_ and @iamividvynne for allowing me to work with them on this project. They did a phenomenal job putting a concept together and producing it. Honored to have been able to work with them both!

Dear Father,

You have adopted and brought us into your precious kingdom. You alone have rewritten our stories. You have heard the tears of the fatherless. There are no words. There’s nothing left. We say thank you ABBA.
