Jesse Heiman tells us what it’s like to be the world’s most famous background actor. Though you might not know his name, he’s essential to the success of any major motion picture. Being an extra isn’t easy - long hours, lots of waiting around, and little credit given for being the silent hero of the entertainment industry. But hey, the peanut and bagel filled snack tables make it all worth it. @iamjesseheiman

One of the biggest rules background actors are given on set is simple: don’t approach the principal actors.

In this clip, Jesse Heiman explains why being professional and letting interactions happen organically is always the better move. And his story about Hilary Duff is a pretty perfect example.

Do your job. Be respectful. Be someone people enjoy having on set.

You never know who might come over and say hello to you.

Sometimes the best networking move is just being good at the job you were hired to do.

Episode 4 of Second Team Stories is NOW LIVE, and this one has some stories.

My guest is Jesse Heiman, one of the most recognizable background actors in Hollywood, with 25+ years in the business and more than 150 film and television credits.

We talk about five seasons on Chuck, the viral video that dubbed him the “World’s Greatest Extra” and helped land him on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, plus what he’s learned from more than two decades on set.

And, of course, we get into the GoDaddy Super Bowl commercial that put Jesse in front of millions of people and became one of the most talked-about ads of the night.

But the story of how he landed it might be even better. It starts with an audition, a blow-up doll, and a name I definitely wasn’t expecting.

You’ll have to hear that one from Jesse.

You’ve seen this guy before. You just might not know his name.

25+ years. 150+ film and TV credits. Five seasons on Chuck. A viral video that dubbed him the “World’s Greatest Extra” and landed him on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

And then there was a certain Super Bowl commercial… and an audition involving a blow-up doll named… WHAT?!

Yeah. THAT guy.

This week on Second Team Stories, Jesse tells me how a guy who started doing background work simply to get on sets became one of the most recognizable background actors ever.

The jobs. The stories. Going viral. Jay Leno. Chuck. And, yes, we definitely talk about that Super Bowl commercial.

🎙️ Jesse Heiman joins Second Team Stories.

Well, I can officially check off being in a #Glambot video now - and it's DEFINITELY giving #MainFlavourEnergy 😍

Tonight was so much fun! Thanks to the team at @hellmannscanada I was invited to an exclusive Flavour Premiere at @paradiseonbloor, with the world’s most famous background actor, @iamjesseheiman to celebrate the launch of NEW Hellmann’s Flavours.

Including Dijonnaise, Spicy, Garlic Aioli and Chipotle, this summer and upcoming BBQ season is about to get all kinds of more delicious 😋

So... Did I nail the Glambot with Jesse as my personal background actor or what? 🤔
