THE BIKERS ARE BACK, BABY.

One of my all-time favorite verticals is Jekyll & Hyde, so anytime somebody gives me another motorcycle-club romance, I am already leaning in. And Ride Till We Die absolutely understood the assignment.

First of all: this cast. @kiley.nicole.pearson as Lizzy is such a perfect fit. She’s the small-town schoolteacher everyone has already decided they understand: good, responsible, respectable, slightly anxious, very much expected to stay inside the lines. But Lizzy doesn’t want to become “bad.” She just wants some control over her own life. She wants her world to get bigger. And then Rafael rides into it.

Surprisingly careful with Lizzy. He knows the life around him is dangerous, and instead of using that danger to pull her closer, he actually tries to push her away from it. Green flag biker? Apparently that’s my genre now.

Of course, this IS Vertical Landia, so before we get too responsible about any of this: Rafael also meets the sweet schoolteacher in the sundress and basically KISSES HER. Immediately. Sir. Carry on.

And what I really loved is that their relationship never needed some giant manufactured breakup to keep moving. They like each other. They’re drawn to each other. And slowly you realize they’re both trapped, just in completely different ways. Lizzy is boxed in by her town, her family and everyone’s expectations of who she’s supposed to be. Rafael is boxed in by a life he never actually chose. Without spoiling where it goes, they give each other a little freedom.

Meanwhile, the plot wastes NO TIME getting messy. Rival clubs. Murder. Betrayal. A dirty cop. An entire town deciding Lizzy is suddenly unfit to teach children because she’s been seen with bikers. And honestly? Some of their concerns are not entirely irrational because PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY DYING (poor @jasonscaceres). But I loved how quickly this story dove into its wo
