A little bit of this little life lately 🙏🏼 — Making memories with longtime friends. Building something meaningful with new ones…

New chapters, same beautiful story: life’s greatest wealth is found in the people right beside you.

❤️ A little (sorta big?) life update…

They say you can take the boy out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the boy. They’re not wrong.

Recently, I made a move and headed for a season east to North Carolina, spurred on by a community and the wind of God at my back. Said some bittersweet goodbyes to some really great people. Shed some tears. Shared core memories over drinks and meals and laughter. Night’s of reminiscing and remembering the faithfulness of God. Stared in my rear view mirror as I drove out of that beloved city and with the windows down blaring some George Strait — believing that one day I’ll be back to this special place.

This state is where my family immigrated to. This state helped shape me. Six generations of my family. I can’t express how grateful I am for what God has done the last ten years here.

When I moved back to Austin years ago I felt the strongest spiritual pull. I rarely have understood the spiritual overtones of “being called.” But because of Austin, I learned that God can and does call you at times…sometimes to a people, sometimes to a purpose…and sometimes to a place.

Austin was that place for me.

I remember days when I lived in Atlanta and the dreams God put in my heart for Austin. He brought so many of those to fruition here.

It was in ATX that I had the highest highs, and some of my lowest lows.
I found some of the best friends a man could ever ask for. Lost some who I thought would be best friends I never imagined losing.

Helped lead & plant a church, and watched God do the miraculous. That church is still standing, by Gods grace. I learned the pain of leading in a church — and the deepest loneliness being a pastor can cause a man to experience. I experienced a deep sense of abandonment when you no longer have anything to offer them, or the people you were shepherding. The sorrow of feeling forgotten.

Yet I looked up, in disorientation — and I saw two or three that drew closer in and nearer during that time. Those days made those relationships even stronger. It was all I needed.

God knew. God provided.
