Getting set up and ready to share Orua Organics with the Spelman & Morehouse community. 🌿💚

Small function, great energy, and another opportunity to introduce people to the African botanicals, traditions, and natural wellness behind Orua.

Thank you AKYN Beauty for putting this together and giving small brands like ours a space to connect, share our story, and grow. 🌍

Crafted in Africa. Rooted in Tradition.

Introducing the 1st Attendant to Miss ASA, Miatta Harris! ✨

Miatta is a Junior Political Science major with a Sociology minor and Pre-Law concentration at Spelman College, with aspirations of pursuing a career in law and public service. A proud Gio girl, hailing from Liberia 🇱🇷 , Miatta carries a deep connection to her heritage and a strong desire to contribute to the continued growth and development of her country and communities.

Her platform, LAW & Order, focuses on restoring balance and structure within African Diasporic communities. LAW represents Leadership, Advancement, and Wisdom, encouraging us to lead by example, uplift our communities through education, and understand our history so we can create meaningful change. Order represents the balance and structure needed to turn those efforts into lasting impact.

Through her role, Miatta hopes to empower her peers, promote civic and political education, and inspire young people to recognize their ability to lead and create change within their communities. Ultimately, she hopes to use her education, leadership, and future career in law and public service to create meaningful change not only in her community, but in Liberia as well. 🤍

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak with Spelman and Morehouse students about the importance of the Georgia Public Service Commission. 💡

The PSC regulates essential services like electricity, gas, and certain phone utilities, directly impacting what Georgians pay each month. Their decisions shape affordability, reliability, and fairness in our state’s energy system.

The Public Service Commission is on the ballot this year. 🗳️
Make your plan to vote and ensure your voice is heard on November 4th. Every vote matters in building a stronger, more equitable Georgia. 💙
