Talk about an amazing night!

Soulskins: Fit for Kindred Queens by Annie Broderick 🎨@anniebroderickart @misslou.art

Annie Broderick debuted her latest collection of wearable art in Kevlar; it is bulletproof when layered and is used in modern-day body armor. This is Annie’s favorite material that metaphors for feminine inner power. Each wearable piece was hand-sewn🪡 to express each women’s power as the collection highlighted and celebrated 12 chosen women whose personal stories inspired Annie.

In addition, Annies’ work also celebrates the collaboration with Girls Inc DC Bold Girls Society. This collaboration with our Bold Girls Society are high school girls from KIPP DC created their patch for a monumental quilt that Annie sewed. Each patch answered the question of “I feel BOLD when..”?

During the program, we highlighted 4 amazing women about the power, beauty, and impact of the Girls Inc experience. Please watch and listen to each woman’s impactful story.

•Ms. Joy - Rising 10th grader at KIPP DC - GIDC Bold Girls Society
•Dr. Heather Hairston - GIDC Executive Director
•Ms. Brandy Williams - History Teacher , Girls Inc GA, and DC Alum, Summer Lead Facilictor & Lead GIDC Bold Girls Society

Annie’s event was a fundraiser in support of GIDC where our mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. GIDC is so grateful to be the beneficiary of an amazing one-night-only showcase by the beautiful, strong, smart, and bold women Annie Broderick at Long View Gallery.
