This is our 1 year anniversary of Yoga With Ya Bros. We are extremely grateful. Some men show up for the soundbath, some for the discussion, and others for the Yoga, but I’ll come for community. Here’s to many more years of community.
Thank you to Rung for Women for providing space for us.

What an amazing night at the World Chess Hall of Fame. ✨

It was truly an honor to present the music of Abbey Lincoln, one of my all-time favorite jazz vocalists and artists. Abbey’s music reaches so far beyond notes and melodies. She sang with depth, intention, courage, and truth — carrying matters of the heart, spirit, identity, and social justice in every phrase. Her artistry has always inspired me because she reminds us that music can be beautiful and honest at the same time. It can comfort, confront, heal, and awaken.

I had such a great time arranging this music and finding my own way into her world while still honoring the spirit of what she gave us. Nights like this remind me why I love being a musician: the music becomes a meeting place — between past and present, grief and joy, discipline and freedom, memory and imagination.

Huge love to Anita Jackson for leading with so much power, grace, and soul. It was also a joy to share the stage with Chris Thomas, Kwanae Johnson, and Roman Wells — world-class musicians hanging out right here in St. Louis. Every time I get to play with musicians of that caliber, I’m reminded how rich this city is with artistry, history, and heart.

I also want to give a special thank you to Jan Shapiro for coming out. Jan is my vocal coach and mentor, and it is always such a joy to have her in the room. Her ear, wisdom, and feedback mean so much to me, and I’m grateful anytime she gets to witness the work in real time.

Special thanks to Brian Owens, Malena Smith, and the World Chess Hall of Fame for having us, taking such great care of us, and treating us to a marvelous dinner after the show. That kind of hospitality means a lot.

Grateful for the music, the people, the moment, and the reminder that great art keeps speaking long after the first sound is made. ♟️🎶

Yoga with ya Bros 8 was amazing. There’s nothing quite like creating Community for men with my brother @dr.jsolo . We shed out the excess mental weights we had been carrying during sound-bath# meditation, built our toolkit to Protect our Peace through mindful discussion, and stretched our stress away through yoga.

I cannot wait for the next one April 19th 😉

Be on the lookout for the Eventbright and make sure you bring your brother or ladies sent it to your brother.
