🕊️ Remembering Rolling Ray 🕊️

Today marks one year since the passing of Raymond Harper, better known as Rolling Ray. 💔

Born September 5, 1996, Rolling Ray was an American influencer and media personality who rose to fame through Instagram and became known for his unforgettable catchphrases, “It’s giving” and “purrr.” He also appeared on Catfish: Trolls and Divorce Court, and later hosted and executive produced the Zeus Network dating show Bobby I Love You, Purrr.

Rolling Ray passed away on September 3, 2025, just two days before his 29th birthday. His death was reported to Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that same day. His cause of death was determined to be natural causes.

Forever remembered for his personality, humor, and unmistakable presence. 🕊️💐

Rest in peace, Rolling Ray. 🖤

🤎♿️🌈Gayes, we are continuing to highlight figures who have helped move the conversation forward around disability representation, rights, and self-expression for #DisabilityPrideMonth!

Today we celebrate Jay Manuel, Pamela Chavez, Marissa Bode & Raymond Harper aka Rolling Ray! ~Swipe ✨

In remembrance of #RollingRay, the self-proclaimed “most famous boy in the wheelchair,” who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at just 15 months old and was given only 12 years to live by his doctor, Rolling Ray cemented himself as an online staple.

As his condition progressed, he began using a wheelchair for mobility. Beginning in his teenage years, Ray took social media by storm with his instantly quotable quips, fierce personality, and seemingly infinite braggadocio.

All the while, he was making internet history from his iconic wheelchair. Over time, his consistent virality launched him onto the small screen, with notable appearances on Catfish: Trolls, Divorce Court, The Conversation and Bobby I Love You Purr.

Tragically, just two days before his 29th birthday, Ray passed away from natural causes.
Despite an original prognosis of only 12 years to live, he lived more than twice that. His life was defiance incarnate.

Rolling Ray would not have been who he was without embracing every part of himself: his Blackness, his queerness, and his disability.

All of these identities worked in tandem, each contributing to the unforgettable person so many came to know. To this day, Rolling Ray is remembered for living boldly and authentically, both on and offline. May he in rest in peace.
