RANDOM UPDATE: Photo #1 - (AI enhanced to show the string lines BUT it’s an actual jobsite photo!) The stone fence makes a 90 degree turn here. So what you are seeing are a bunch of “sight lines” (string lines) that look like lasers. We use these to “sight in” from above the lines the plane (face) of the stone to stay consistent with the 1-6 batter. Remaining photos - We are also installing 4 sculptures above the “big boy” wall. Mr. Happy is one of them. So we dug and set in rebar cages for the concrete footings. This is a @laplatastonedesign project and the team consists of @iamsamwisej @_positronicmind_ Nate, Tanner, Matt, @aidan_la and myself.

This week 5 of us spent about 3 plus days rough-shaping shitty-shaped rock into near usable wall stone. Then we still have to organize it all by sizes and move all of them to the other side of the house. Then, we organize it on the ground by sizes again along 2 sides of a 176 linear feet of wall. Then we finish shaping each piece before setting. A rough estimate is around 6-7,500 stones just for this long wall. I like showing the CHAOS around the CREATION. All rock and fragments laying around that then become a STONE WALL. The rock gets shaped into usable wall stone and then set into place. The fragments get used as the HEARTING (or what I call the “drystone mason’s mortar). These photos and videos from yesterday show you a 100’ portion of the 176’ linear foot wall + a cross section view. Yep… super cheesy song I chose…😄 Another Weekend Update: We moved to the West side… I laced the rest of the cheek wall Sam built with the “big boy” wall. Now that the vertical coping is done I’ll focus on finishing up the “big boy” wall before we set red sandstone caps on the entire 150’ run. Sam and the others are starting on the 175’ run of new walling.
