What's the Scoop VSU!? First up this week we have an EXTREMELY talented VSU Alumna, Skyler 'Skyler Reed' Boardley, a Fredericksburg, VA native representing the Class of 2013! She is our FIRST FEATURED Vocal Artist who majored in Vocal Performance while at State and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity Inc., and the University Concert Choir!!! She is currently stationed in Los Angeles, CA fulfilling her aspirations as a vocal artist and describes her journey as, " I am an R&B/Soul singer and songwriter. I have been writing since 12 years old, and I was influenced a lot by Whitney Houston. I have experience performing in operas, and I gig around the city of LA, where I've resided for about 2 and a half years. I enjoy singing most genres of music, but am focusing on being an artist. I am a music educator, and hope to establish my own voice studio someday. I am currently working on my studio album". You can watch some of her work on YouTube: Skyler Reed @ Soul Sunday's and be sure to be on the lookout for her upcoming album "I Keep Dreamin..." @iamskylerreed & I on the day we finished her #album, "I Keep Dreaming". Super excited to watch her continue to grow and I'm glad to be a part of it. Check out her delicious R&B flavor on my website (chriscloser.com) and show some love on her page.
