In 2023, just a day or two after completing my mandatory one year internship at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, I attended the platform Young Professionals Bootcamp organised by the Platform Nigeria.

Looking back, it was one of the most transformative experiences in my journey so far.

At the time, I was fresh out of school and honestly thought my life would follow just one path because of my medical science background. But YPB opened me up to possibilities beyond what I had imagined for myself. It stretched my thinking, exposed me to new opportunities, and connected me with amazing young Nigerians who are now doing incredible things across different industries and even across the world. Many of them have become genuine friends over the years.

More than anything, the bootcamp helped me see that I didn’t have to be limited by the box I had placed myself in.

It was more of an incubator and we had fun while at it (the last 3 slides can attest to it🤣🤣)

I genuinely recommend this program to every young Nigerian within the age bracket. It is practical, transformative, merit-based, and the application process is straightforward.

This year’s edition is even bigger, with over ₦150 million in grants to be awarded to 30 people.

If you’re thinking about applying, this is me encouraging you to go for it. You never know how one decision can completely expand your world.

Please visit www.youngprofessionalsng.org to apply on or before 24 May 2026. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.

It is open to both final year students and graduates within the age bracket.
