POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Earlier this month I attended the celebration for the publication of Something Followed Us Home, a Latine horror short story collection edited by Bram Stroker winner Cynthia Pelayo at @twistedspinebooks. The conversation between @cynthiapelayoauthor @leopoldoleopoldo @anandalima and @alexsegurajr was food for the soul. It was the perfect event for Latine Heritage Month. I loved hearing about the seeds of the stories and the folklore that inspired each story, each authors' horror origin stories and the affirmations of Latine identity in storytelling. The night was food for the soul. Latine writers are one of the lowest represented in publishing and there is a belief that Latine don't belong in the genre of horror. Every author solidified what we all know and that is that horror is our culture and there are way too many Latine stories that haven't been told yet. It is up to us to read, write and support Latine collections like this one. We don't need to shrink ourselves to be palatable and we should continue to amplify Latine stories. Thank you to @primerosuenopress for answering the call to put forth Latine stories and for arranging this event with The Twisted Spine to experience Latine excellence in the genre.

I was happy to see so many Latine bookstagram friends in real life, including my book bestie @booklifeisthebestlife. I was able to get some books in my collection signed. I also got to give the very first Latina, Puerto Rican woman, Cynthia Pelayo to win a Bram Stroker her flowers. I'm over the moon to hear that this collection is already a best seller. The collection is available in English and Spanish, so make sure you support all the amazing Latine contributors and pick up copies for yourself and the horror readers in your life.

☺️ Bookish trip to the LOVER East Side! 😉💜
(👀 see what I did there?)

Gracias @iamtaratorres for the invite to check out @tiawilliamswrites and @kristinaforest_ in conversation with @bringme_books at @ptknitwear ✨✨✨

It was a night of firsts! First time at P&T Knitwear, first time picking up books by both Tia and Kristina. And I had a blast! The conversation was amazing, the readers in the room were locked in and supportive, and the shop itself was just so welcoming.

If you know me, you know I’m either reading about redrum or love these days, so I was happy to snag two hot picks! Meeting both authors was a plus because HELLO! Women in romance fiction are just E V E R Y T H I N G.

Are you a reader of Tia and/or Kristina? Let me know! 👇🏽

P.S. had to snag a lil ‘za before going home. 🍕

Life has been life-ing lately but I’m thankful for the small joys this month.

There’s a lot that feels up in the air and with the changes means I’ve been busy and not really thinking about outfits and content. (Most of them are packed away at this point 😭) I’m not going away and will definitely be posting normally within a couple weeks, hopefully.

Until then, thanks for the check ins and keep engaging with my content so the algo doesn’t punish me. 💋

June Recap 💙✨

Listen it’s not mid July quiet yet, I can still post my recap. Putting this together I realize how full June was! It’s so easy to get caught up and feeling like you aren’t getting to have summer fun but I DID and these recaps help remind me of that.

Even if one of those reminders was me getting full on pneumonia (not pictured 😂)

Excited for what the rest of July will bring!

the last couple of months have consisted of working BTS, supporting the work of those that I love & collaborating when it feels good to me. I don’t particularly love sharing every single moment but here are some people, places, & moments that mean a lot to me.

I couldn’t tag everyone 🥲
