This board was once headed for landfill. I fixed it, painted it, surfed it, painted it some more and then sold it. #upcycling #chatgpt helped to summarise the process with: Surfing, making Art, and returning to the Ocean are sacred currents that shape my life. Each board begins as an offering of color and intention—a vessel awakened by pigment, resin, and touch—but it is not fully alive until it enters the sea. There, salt, sun, wind, reef, and wave become unseen collaborators, inscribing the board with marks that feel less like damage than messages from another realm. Every scar becomes a tide-born symbol; every repaired fracture, a doorway; every layer of paint, a record of transformation. Each surfboard is a living artifact, carrying Mana with it: the breath of the ocean, the spirit of the rider, the memory of distant shores, and the invisible force gathered from every wave it has crossed. Together, these boards become floating relics and ocean-charged talismans—keepers of movement, vulnerability, healing, and joy—reminding me that surfing, making, caring, and living all belong to the same ancient wave. #surfboard #iamtorquato #yesyoucan
