Do you feel like you are two different personalities based on where you are in your cycle?

We’ve all heard that hormones fluctuate, but did you ever wonder how exactly that translates to mood swings? Let me break it down for you!

🩸 Menstrual Phase- also includes the Follicular phase- Day 1 begins with the first day of full flow. Most women bleed got 5-7 days on average. During that time the brain sends FSH to stimulate growth of the egg, which produces Estradiol.
After your period finishes, estradiol starts to climb, progesterone stays low
👩‍❤️‍👨 Ovulation Phase- following follicular phase, estrogen peaks just before the release of the egg. Testosterone can peak as well. Progesterone is just starting to be produced
😔Luteal Phase- this is after ovulation until your period starts. When progesterone is produced in the normal amount, people can feel ok.
But if progesterone is too low, or estrogen is too high, you can feel anxiety or depression. Women with PMS and PMDD are usually sensitive to the sharp drop in both hormones right before your period starts.
