Is your bio giving “Don’t hire me for any reason. Ever.” vibes? BRA is officially in session. 🪑

Janelle’s bio had 847 characters. Her cat Mr. Kitty had his own section. Her Shonda Rhimes quote had its own paragraph. Her actual job? Somewhere in there. Probably.

If your bio is a novel nobody asked to read, this is for you.

Let’s call it Why the Fuck Not Wednesday. Here’s the full short of Eat the Pasta. This film started in a remote writer’s group hosted by @catlacohie during the pandemic and was written in 45 minutes using some prompts. I had the pleasure of meeting two wonderfully amazing humans @_erika_tai (Star and co-writer) and @iamveronicaroy (powerhouse and best actress nominee and the Houston Comedy Awards) during that group and once pandemic limitations lifted we all met in person for the first time for a rehearsal the week before we shot (everyone told me I was taller than they expected). Magic ensued. With my compliments to @oreillyfacktor for splitting acting and crew work and the amazing @jmaynard241 for co-producing and doing sound we were able to get to a place where we were selected to @thatkevinsmith’s inaugural @smodcastle.filmfest. Enjoy! (Or don’t, don’t let me tell you how to live your life)

Mocap Vaults Cinematics!

Well it’s been quite the journey getting to this point and one that’s spanned most of my time here in California. Got there in the end though and my my, was it worth the perseverance.
This Saturday marked the ultimate step in my training with @themocapvaults as we spent an incredible day in @rougemocap Mocaps beautiful new volume. Monologues, rehearsed group scenes and rapid unknown scenes were all staged and recorded beautifully by an incredible army of performers, directors and technicians. It really is quite amazing how so much was accomplished in one day. Respect!
My awe and admiration for this collaborative way of working continues to grow as a result. Could it be the ultimate hybrid of all the story telling forms? There’s something so freeing about the volume, knowing that you are giving a strong foundation of a performance that the technicians and creatives involved can take and run with, adding new layers and dimensions that refine and deepen the narratives and worlds that you’re bringing to life. It reminds me of the freedom you feel when doing mask work. You can sense the endless possibilities in the volume and I hope to be back in this sandbox again as soon as possible.
Thank you to @richarddorton for your unwavering enthusiasm and support from day one in ‘Intro to Mocap’ many moons ago. Also a huge thank you to the rest of the mocap vaults and rouge mocap teams @darrenbailey17, @ohmrhall, @pascallangdale, @davidmichaellong @kiffvh @thatmocapguy and @bodyromjohn for your generous directorial guidance. Having such creative and imaginative collaborators to bounce off is priceless.
If you’re an actor, stunt person, performer of any kind, I highly recommend taking this journey and sticking with it to the very end. It’s so bloody worth it! And most importantly, fun!

🗡️ Some celebrate May the 4th - I celebrate Revenge of the 5th! 🔪
In honor of Star Wars Day, here’s an exclusive, never-before-seen clip from Balance of the Force—a fan film concept reel I directed starring @amyschumacherofficial and @iamveronicaroy beating the force out of each other 🤣 Fun fact - we used an LED wall BEFORE The Mandalorian on this project… and many of the lessons I learned from it were used in the making of Screamboat!
Directed by @stevenlamorte
Cinematography by @sheff_shoots_indie
Choreography by @terencerotolo
Lightsabers by @ultrasabers
This one’s been kept in the vault… until now.
