As a football coach, I can’t wait for Friday nights this fall. I love competing with this team, and every game matters.
But some things matter even more.
This September, our program is proud to participate in the Guardian One Mile Challenge as Team Detective Christine Donaghy. We’re walking in honor of a devoted police officer, detective, mother, and member of our Lakeland family who dedicated more than 20 years of her life to serving others.
I’m especially grateful to Ian Wisker—the first captain I named as Lakeland’s head football coach—for trusting us to honor his mother’s legacy.
The lessons we hope to teach our players extend far beyond football: serve others, lead with character, and never let someone carry life’s burdens alone.
I’m proud to be part of this with our players, our families, and our community. If you’d like to join us, we’d be honored to have you walk alongside Team Detective Christine Donaghy.

Scan the QR code and make sure to join Team Detective Christine Donaghy as we honor a devoted police officer, detective, and mother who dedicated over 20 years to serving others. Every mile we run celebrates her life, her service, and supports the mental health of those who protect us.
Join non-profit Guardian Revival to take on the One Mile Challenge during the month of September (Suicide Awareness Month): a 30-day virtual walking event that raises funds & awareness to combat veteran & first responder suicide in the United States.
Over the course of the one month challenge, you’ll walk, run, or roll 30 total miles: 1 mile each day of September. This is a virtual challenge that operates on the honor system: participate wherever you are and track your daily mile.
Link to participate and learn more about the challenge is in the bio. @guardianrevival #OMC2026

Angels in the Outfield 2026⚾️
Once again @beyondthebadgeny and @seafordlittleleague went above and beyond to honor our heroes and show so much love and support for the survivors. Thank you to all the players who honored our heroes and their parents for allowing them to participate and play in memory of our loved ones.

Truly meant the world to us to have @newyorkexpresssoftball @papdsoftball @mta_pba by our side and we truly appreciate your love and unwavering support. Thank you for sponsoring today’s event and for everything you do to raise awareness. Nicholas is so lucky to have so many police officers for him to look up to and to remind him of what a hero his Daddy was. Thank you to all of our friends and family and to everyone we’ve met along the way throughout the last sixteen months. God has put a lot of great people in our lives and we appreciate you beyond words🤍 #smashthestigma #angels #suicideawareness #firstreapondersuicideprevention #friendswhoarefamily

Beyond the Badge went above and beyond once again not only to honor our heroes but also to remind us that we are not alone.

The founders of BTB experienced pain that nobody should ever have to face. They lost their best friend to suicide. Since then, they have been helping families who have lost a loved one to suicide. The community they have created, consists of survivors, police departments, Seaford Little League, as well as countless friends, relatives and volunteers. It is a community that has helped families begin to heal and finally have a place where they feel understood.

No family or police department should ever experience the pain of a suicide loss. It’s a loss that is too deep and too complex to put into words. Our loved ones who left this world way too soon when they took their own lives, were suffering in silence. This is unfortunately, very common in law enforcement. Police officers are masters of emotional camouflage. They ignore emotional trauma on a daily basis and sometimes the trauma takes over.

BTB and other foundations who bring awareness to smashing the stigma are also open and honest about the pain survivors face. This is helping to someday put a stop to the epidemic of first responder suicide. They encourage and help officers get help before the pain is too heavy to carry.

If you are reading this and you are struggling, please don’t wait another day. Everyone deserves peace and happiness in their hearts and minds. While you might feel alone in your pain, you are not. If you or anyone you know needs support, please reach out to Beyond the Badge, call 988 or reach out to any organization who offers non-judgmental support. The bravest and most badass thing you could ever do is to say “I need help.” There is truly a solution to every problem with the exception of bringing back someone who should still be here. If anyone has ever considered or attempted taking your own life, thank you for staying. Keep staying. Tomorrow needs you. I don’t have all the answers but I promise you this, if you take your life, your pain will multiply and be felt by everyone who ever loved you. Please Stay🤍

Join us on this Saturday June 6th for our 4th Annual Angels in the outfield event at Seamans Neck Park in Seaford.

Once again the amazing children of the @seafordlittleleague will come out and play in memory of our officers who have left this world too soon. Each child will wear a name of an officer on their back to honor their memory. The feeling of seeing these kids running around and excited is something that truly mends a piece of our broken hearts.

Please swipe to see list of officers being honored this year 💙

*please note officers are picked 1) based off of family approval and 2) due to having more officers than children we do rotate officer names on the jersey’s however all officers will be included in the day of remembrance. #beyondthebadgeny #seafordlittleleague #angelsintheoutfield #baseball #mentalhealth
