Such an honor and a joy to be trusted with this insane show and role. And a gentle reminder to all that it’s a privilege to pee.

✨OPENING THIS WEEKEND — ROC City Singers alumni Ian Royse, Emmeline Hutton, and Ryan Hinks will be onstage in Blackfriars Theatre Summer Intensive’s production of Urinetown!

This darkly comedic, meta-theatrical musical takes place in a Gotham-like city where a terrible water shortage has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. No one pees for free! The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid this injustice, a hero emerges to plan a revolution and lead the people to freedom! Watch our alumni Ian Royse as the hero, Bobby Strong; Emmeline Hutton as the wide-eyed, naive daughter torn between her morally bankrupt father and her new love for Bobby; and Ryan Hinks as the hilariously corrupt Officer Barrel.

Shows are:
Friday, July 31st 7:30
Saturday, August 1st 2:00 & 7:30
Sunday, August 2nd 2:00
Thursday, August 6th 7:30
Friday, August 7th 7:30
Saturday, August 8th 7:30
Sunday, August 9th 2:00
at Blackfriars Theatre (795 E. Main St in Rochester)
