This stage in my life will be one I will think about for the rest of my life. I first started running in middle school for an amazing coach, person, and mentor that convinced me that I could be a good runner in high school and that I could be an all-state runner. Although that never happened, he was telling me how much potential I had in the sport and gave me something to strive for.

My freshman year I saw how committed and motivated my teammates were to this team. This was when running became more than a sport for me. It became life, and I loved every part of it. I was running for a hall of fame, All-American, and multiple state title coach which sounds intimidating but anyone that knows him know how down to earth and great of a person he is. High school is where I met many of the people I know and many of them I met through running, whether it was on the same team or from another school. I hope to be close to these people for the rest of my life. At the end of high school I thought I was done running until one of our last meets when I was introduced to a coach that game me a little more time with this sport

In college running had a whole new atmosphere. All the people I had grown up with were no longer going on runs with me or in the weight room. I met a new set of people with a new coach in a new school. All of these people have impacted me in a way I didn’t expect. I was running for an amazing coach and person. I continued my running career until I got hurt and had to be out for a couple of weeks. This was my first major injury when I had to take time off and watch my teammates progress without me. After I started running again I realized that ever since middle school running had been my life and I was ready to move on. I told my coach that after the national meet I would be done running competitively and I would also be leaving this school. He told me that I had to do what was right for me and that he was happy for me. I finished up my freshman year of college.

Running will always be apart of me and I will always love this sport. Thank you to everyone that has been apart of this part of my life. I am excited to see what the next few years bring.⏳
