My heart is so full from this whirlwind of a wedding season. What a gift it is to witness and be a part of your friends’ celebration of love. This month was a reunion of friends across so many arenas of my life. And each wedding was so different and unique to the couple 🥹🪩🤍

REDUX

The beginnings of new research. I left with more questions than I began, primarily: can the past become a medium through which someone/thing not yet known might arrive? A kind of calling forth of what is still becoming?

Created with and performed by:

Kendall Ramirez @kendall_ramirez
Andrea Soto @ansotomr
Ian Spring @ianspring

SAVE THE DATE ✨ I’m thrilled to finally share that BOCA TUYA will perform as part of the Lincoln Center Contemporary Dance Festival in January 2027!

I’m incredibly grateful to Donald Borror and Lincoln Center for the invitation, and I cannot wait to bring the New York premiere of Sombreristas to Alice Tully Hall.

For this performance, we’re bringing some of the original Sombreristas cast back together. It feels like a family reunion, returning to a work that has become such an important part of BOCA TUYA’s story and identity.

For me, this is also a way of honoring the artists who helped build BOCA TUYA long before anyone was paying attention. Bringing them home to New York, and now to Lincoln Center, feels like a truly special full-circle moment.

I’m so excited to celebrate this work, this family, and everything that has brought us here.

Got to hang out with @annalee_traylor and cast earlier this month for a rehearsal of REDUX, a piece which recently premiered @cprnyc
.
from gentle to acute, and back again. i adore the way annalee creates varied tension through every element at her disposal in her work, at first it’s a low steady presence, that builds imperceptibly until someone is on top of a chair, or upside down, or in midair.

Dearest Mike, @baredanceco, thank you for the invitation to share in such a bountiful evening of art and community. You are a perpetual inspiration to me and so so so many others. I LOVE YOU!

Dearest Ian, Andrea, Emilio, Kendall, and James, words can’t hold my gratitude and awe. This process was like a spaceship to worlds converging the reminiscent, new, and other. Thank you for helping me see the way.

This video encapsulates one of my favorite parts of the filmmaking process. No prompts required. And the laughter from the crew is priceless.
