“The outside is always an inside.” — ʟᴇ ᴄᴏʀʙᴜsɪᴇʀ

This year marks the 10th anniversary of 𝘗𝘈𝘝𝘐𝘓𝘓𝘖𝘕 𝘋𝘌 𝘓’𝘌𝘚𝘗𝘙𝘐𝘛 𝘕𝘖𝘜𝘝𝘌𝘈𝘜: 𝘈 21𝘴𝘵 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 (#PDLEN), a 2015 exhibition at @swissinstitute curated by Felix Burrichter. The exhibition reimagined Le Corbusier’s 1925 Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau, exploring how contemporary design addresses modern domesticity.

Designed with artist #ShawnMaximo, the space was divided into six zones, each a modern take on traditional domestic spaces. Visitors experienced these environments through closed-circuit surveillance and against the backdrop of chroma-key paint, which immersed them in Maximo’s fantastical digital renderings on flat screens on the wall. The show combined innovative materials, design, and humor, offering a critique on 21st-century techno-optimism and surveillance culture.

For those who missed it, the exhibition is documented in a fantastic book available via @dapinc. Link in bio.
