Amanda and I spent the afternoon with Aby at their wedding venue making what felt like a hundred little decisions. Ian joined us after work just in time for menu decisions. The wedding is still 11 months away (yes, I know it sounds like forever), but life is about to get very busy. They head back for their senior year at UL in just a couple of weeks, and Aby starts student teaching next week. She was determined to have as much of this wedding planned as possible before her classroom starts demanding all of her attention.

Watching these two together is just the sweetest thing. Their love for each other is effortless, genuine, and the kind that brings a smile without even trying. As a mom, there really isn’t much better than seeing your child so deeply loved.

We know God has big plans for these two, and it’s been such a gift to watch Him write their story. I can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for them but if time could slow down just a little, I wouldn’t complain. #hitchedandhyphenated #skellham-cox

Fifteen years between these two pics. I swear it feels like I blinked and somehow my baby girl grew up right in front of me. From such a silly, sweet girl to the strong, beautiful young woman she is today! Every stage has been something I wish I could bottle up and keep forever.

She’s always been beautiful, but it’s her heart, and the way she carries herself that takes my breath away. Watching her grow into who the woman she is becoming has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave Aby to us, and I thank Him every day for choosing me to be her mom. I am excited to see what God has in store for her and Ian’s future.
