English Translation: “Merchants dwell in the religious inns, deceivers stand at the temple doors; even in the mosques reside the unworthy, while true lovers of the Divine remain apart.”

धर्मशालाओं में व्यापारी बसते हैं, ठग दरवाज़ों पर डेरा जमाए बैठे हैं, और मस्जिदों में भी ऐसे लोग हैं जो वहाँ रहने के योग्य नहीं।

बुल्ले शाह कहते हैं कि सच्चे आशिक — ईश्वर के प्रेमी — इन सब दिखावों से अलग रहते हैं। उनका धर्म न किसी इमारत में बसता है, न किसी पहचान में, बल्कि प्रेम, सत्य और इंसानियत में बसता है।

आज भी यह पंक्ति उतनी ही प्रासंगिक है जितनी सदियों पहले थी।
