Such a fun day in Birmingham for some Banana Ball with the Clowns vs. Coconuts! Checked out a couple of local breweries to bookend a great day at @rickwood_field. Even with a two hour weather delay, they got the full game in and it ended in a walk of score from the Clowns. Always enjoy time at the ballpark with Virgil and Lynn when I can. Also, special to catch up with @ashby__vining a former @goblowfish player doing great things with the Coconuts! Rickwood is a special place and I hope to continue getting here at least once a year for a game.

What a GREAT night in Cedar Rapids to see the @crkernels in Game 1 of the @curvedbrimmedia meet-up. Can't beat $5 tickets and 2 for 1 drinks. Grateful for the awesome staff, Mr. Schucks, and the great company. Can't wait to connect again on the road next year.

An amazing Saturday spent in Dyersville and Davenport by the @curvedbrimmedia meetup crew! We made out first stop at the If You Build It Exhibit and then over to the @thefieldofdreamsmoviesite for some fun and a catch. Finished up the night with @qcriverbandits getting to meet up with Rascal and riding the Big Wheel during an amazing sunset. Was nice to see many of our former @colafireflies at the next level tonight!

Day 2 of CBM weekend started with a stop at Frank’s Pizzaria in Silva, IL and then the Worlds Largest Truckstop as we made our way to Cedar Rapids. After a meetup at @clockhousebrewing we all headed to the stadium for the @crkernels game! What a crowd for a Friday night with a hat giveaway and 2 for 1 beverages. Met up with Mr. Shucks, had a tour of the memorabilia in the Suite level with CEO Steve Brice (who also took our group photo) & the Kernels got the Win! Tomorrow it gets even better.

This week on the Baseball By Design podcast, there’s nothing normal about the Normal Cornbelters! Guests include GM Jarrett Rodgers, MiLB super fan Lynn Smith, and of course Dan Simon with a Studio Simon Stumper!

Day THREE our 3-Day Local Baseball Staycation brought us to Impact Field, home of @thechicagodogs. This was the first stop for the Annual @curvedbrimmedia trip. Can you think of a better place to socialize with 25 or so of your favorite baseball fans? Me neither. What a great night to catch up with people we haven't seen in years. From Colorado to Alabama, people came from all over the map to reconnect during a beautiful night for baseball in Rosemont.

Today cap is an alternate for the @billingsmustangsbaseball team in Billings, Montana. I like logos that incorporate the state outline. #hats #caps #lids #milb #baseball #sports #fitteds

Clinton = Classic. 🏟️ What a treat to watch a game at NelsonCorp Field in Clinton, Iowa. Especially with our friend @iaskiheho! 😁 The @clintonlkings know how to put on a good, classic show for real fans of baseball & family entertainment. Thanks to the GM Nate for the hat swap & hospitality! 😄 #AllTheBallparks #ErikLikesBaseball

Day 2 (for me) of the @curvedbrimmedia meet-up was even better than yesterday. Today's @carolinamudcats game featured stickers, the messiest ice cream helmet ever, live and in-person dad jokes from @milbhathistory, and the best catfish sandwich I've ever had - not just in a ballpark, but EVER, ANYWHERE. Can't wait to do it again!

What a great night hanging out with the @curvedbrimmedia community tonight at the @durhambulls game. The margaritas were refreshing and the food was awesome. Can't wait to do it again.

2023 was an amazing year for the @TheChicagoDogs! Nothing more fun than being a super fan, which included launching my YT Fancast channel (returning soon), purchasing way too many Dogs caps, designing the Ketchup t-shirt, and getting to throw a first pitch!

Best of all of course, is making countless new friends at each game. Sadly though, I lost two as well. RIP my fellow superfans Richard Garcia and Mike Dolan 🩵🌭⚾️

2023 Pacific Northwest Tour, Day 9: Alaska Day 3

Today was the third and final day in Alaska for our group, and the main event! We started the solstice with a three-hour tour along the Chena River aboard the Riverboat Discovery. We saw sled dog teams, learned about life in the Chena Indian Village, and learned all about the history of Fairbanks, the Golden Heart City. And enjoyed delicious, complementary local blueberry donuts and smoked Alaskan salmon aboard!

After our tour, we headed back to the hotel to rest up and give the rain a chance to pass over, then started our walk along the Chena River to Growden Memorial Park to watch the Alaska Goldpanners take on the Michigan Monarchs in the 118th Midnight Sun Game!

The pregame energy was palpable, with almost the entire crowd arriving two hours early. As soon as you entered the gates, the buzz of the crowd made us feel both welcome and like we were part of something special. That excitement culminated in an epic, surprise flyover performed by the F-35 squadron out of Eielson Air Force Base.

First pitch was at 10pm and the game lasted well into the midnight hour. As promised, no lights were used during the game. The Panners ran away with it and took the game 5-1, bringing our home team record to 6-1 on this trip (pretty fun when our adopted teams keep winning!). Our group participated in the local Alaska traditions of singing the state song in the 6th inning, and playing along with “Happy Boy” on our kazoos during the 7th inning stretch.

It's hard to believe our trip has come to an end. We’ve all made so many great memories and new friends along the way, and I can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for following along on our epic baseball adventure!
