Every time I am up there speaking of the phenomenal work that Team Shakti has been doing on ground, I think of every woman I have ever met who spoke to me of her pain, struggles and challenges. I wonder how within minutes we connect, we trust and we share our deepest pains to one another with such ease and take comfort and empathy back with ourselves. On the surface this might feel an emotional connection, but then isn’t politics the most emotional thing in our country?

Well, the future of Indian politics is going to be a lot about women leadership in coming years. The sooner we realise and act upon it, the stronger we get. Our only bargaining power in all the decision making tables would how effectively organised we are as our political identity.

It is truly a matter of great responsibility to be able to build a strong foundation of women leadership from the grassroots.

Goal for 2026 is to learn, unlearn and stay unapologetic in the journey of reclaiming the power.🌻❤️

Protests have erupted across northern India after the Supreme Court redefined the Aravalli hills - one of the world's oldest geological formations spanning the states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, and the capital, Delhi.

Under the new definition, accepted by the court following federal government recommendations, an Aravalli hill is any landform rising at least 100 metres (328 ft) above the surrounding terrain. Two or more such hills within 500 metres of each other, along with the land between them, are considered an Aravalli range.

Environmentalists argue that defining Aravalli hills by height risks leaving numerous lower, scrub-covered but ecologically critical hills unprotected from mining and construction.

Must listen to the thoughts of @iavantikaa

Everytime I talk about it, it fills me with rage and I mostly end up feeling drained. It is centuries of endless suffering, pain, struggle and silence that comes from patriarchy. All the stories of unwanted torture, stares, touches, tears, pain and suffering find no place to rest. I feel lucky every time we build a space which not only ensures the feeling of belongingness, justice, empathy and safety but also shares the pain with which you’re experiencing life. Because no matter what we say, what we do, we cannot deny that ‘Personal is Political’ and Shakti Abhiyan lets me do my personal politics in a country that is burning of hateful rhetoric and violent regime.
