Happy International Women’s Day to the incredible women of Studio 8.

This studio has become a place where women share their love of yoga with the community and introduce people to a practice that helps them listen to their bodies, trust themselves, and realize they’re capable of more than they thought.

Watching that kind of strength grow in people never gets old, and honestly it’s pretty badass to see so many women showing up for themselves and each other in this space.

Grateful for the teachers in this photo, the ones who have been part of this room before, and all of the women who walk through the doors and make this community what it is.

And excited to welcome our newest teacher @emmewatkins. 💜

“Love is the practice of freedom.” — bell hooks

That line has stayed with me because it names something we feel but don’t always articulate.

The women in this photo practice that kind of freedom every time they teach. Not by performing, pleasing, or pushing, but by creating rooms where people are trusted to listen to their own bodies, make their own choices, and show up honestly. That is not passive work. It requires confidence, discernment, and responsibility.

Each of these teachers leads differently. They bring different rhythms, different language, different strengths. What unites them is integrity — a commitment to teaching in a way that respects the intelligence of the student and the depth of the practice.

That is why this community feels the way it does. People are not being molded or managed. They are being supported. Over time, that changes how people move, how they breathe, and how they relate to themselves and the world around them.

I have deep appreciation for the women in this photo and the leadership they bring to this community, and I’m honored to lead beside them. If you practice here, you already know why.

And with that, the 2025 season comes to an end.

Whew….that was fun!

I have so much to be thankful for. My family, our teachers, and this community that showed up and said, “yeah, we’re doing this.”

This year could’ve gone a lot of ways.
What could have been an ending became a new beginning—new and familiar faces, deep breaths, sweat, music, laughter, color, and a space that feels alive again.

This year you showed up in ways you didn’t think you could.
You came on days you almost talked yourself out of it.
You built consistency where there used to be hesitation.
You let yourself be seen, supported, and challenged.
From “I’ll try” to “this is part of my life.”
From walking in alone to recognizing familiar faces on the mat.

We almost closed, and then became something vibrant.
What felt uncertain has become more steady.
And somehow, this place found its pulse again.

Look at us now.

Thank you for being part of this season and this story.
Deep gratitude for each and everyone of you 💙🦋

And 2026?
We’re just getting started.

If you’ve been thinking about it, start now.

Meet Ibby ✨🌊🌿🔥🧘🏼‍♀️

A believer, a creator, a dancer, a lover, and an adventurer at heart. Native to Virginia Beach, Ibby is passionate about the outdoors, animals, music, art, and travel — all of which inspire her approach to life and teaching.

Her yoga journey began at home, but it wasn’t until stepping into a hot studio later in life that she knew the yogic path was truly hers. From that moment, her practice deepened and she’s been a dedicated yogini ever since.

Ibby has explored many different lineages, and her classes are designed to leave you feeling relieved, refreshed, and revived. She seamlessly links movement and breath to help students disconnect from the noise and go within, always with a focus on balance and growth.

✨ Ibby teaches Hot Foundations every Monday at 5:30pm at Studio 8. Come say hi! 💗
