1 day. 6 towns. 100 miles.

30+ miles of gravel.
30+ miles of highway.
3,800+ feet of elevation.
One water-covered trail crossing.
And a whole lot of “why am I doing this?”

There was blood, sweat, tears, and plenty of moments where stopping sounded like the better option.

My Apple Watch died, so I lost my progress. I got a flat tire and ended up walking 5 miles to @ichibike to get it replaced. Then I got back on the bike and kept going.

Because quitting wasn’t the goal.

Somehow this turned into @outland_productions training with all the gravel.

For a long time, 100 miles was the goal. Today, I can finally say I did it.

It wasn’t perfect. It definitely wasn’t easy. But I finished.

100 miles. Goal complete.

Now the question is… what’s next?

This year marks 10 years since my first apprenticeship tattoo. Before that, even in those sketchy attics, dimly lit tool sheds, cheap motels and my parents basement I knew I had a love for tattooing that I couldn’t explain yet. It was something I wanted more than anything, not realizing the immense amount that it would eventually give back to me. My thoughts on tattooing have grown and shifted a lot since those days. Reflecting on the time that’s passed i ask what I have given to tattooing and what yet I still have to give. One thing that hasn’t changed in ten years is my love for tattoo. The people, friends family and every person that has trusted me along the way, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve given me the chance to live my biggest childhood dream. I’m not one to pay much attention to milestones, but 10 years is an undeniable one. I hope I can keep giving back to tattooing, I know i will always be in its debt. I’m retiring my old name @mindbabey (shout out teenage me: ) find me here now @carex.tattoo

All that being said, I’m not on here too much so to anyone considering a tattoo from me, my books are always open and my prices always fair. Come hangout and listen to me blab about how much I love tattooing and all the crazy stories along the way.. there’s a lot haha. Love you all, thank you to everyone and THANK YOU TATTOO!
