With our guest curator Ignazio Colt Nicastro (@icnicastro), we explored the works of our #BEINGSCENE25 artists, Caylen Monroe (@caylenmonroe), Jace Traz (@jacetraz), and Apanaki Temitayo (@apanakitemitayo)

We got to hear about each artist’s story, how their work came to be, and what they’re working towards. Our artists shared with us their process and techniques, and what inspired the creation of their works.

Together, we got to learn more about our #BEINGSCENE25 artists and from guest curator @icnicastro who offered their perspective as a contemporary art curator, writer, and community builder to explore what’s next for our artists.

Thank you to our artists and guest curator for joining us yesterday evening! We look forward to our next Open Studio, coming in September. More details to come.

To learn more about our Open Studio Series, please visit workmanarts.com/events/open-studio-series/

If you’ve made it this far in the caption, Tai here 🤫 (our Comms Manager) letting you know that we’re 11 followers away from 10k on Instagram. Help me cross that line!

Capturing @electricislandto Aug 7-8 on 35mm @kodak #ektar100 & @harmanphoto #phoenixfilm2 200 🎞️

Really pushed myself to experiment with my creative process using a film point-and-shoot camera walking around Electric Island. Definitely a lot of blurry photos that are not pictured here, but it was a lot of fun to learn something new 🤭

Special thanks to @kaitambermac

Also loooove this new album @overmono can't wait to see you in Oct!

My first MUSEUM exhibition at the Textile Museum of Canada!! 🎉 “Second Life: Sustainable Textile Showcase” is a community exhibition from August 7 - October 4.

I have two pieces on display! “Jungle Cat” 🌴😻 is a punch needle pal I made in a workshop with @alisa_mcronald . “Blue River” 🦋 is a quilt block I made in a workshop with @justinmingyong . My mom, @christinecklau , has her pieces next to mine! 💕

Thank you to all the other artists who made this showcase happen, the guests who came for the opening, @textilemuseumofcanada for the workshops and exhibition, the support of @canada.council , and especially @icnicastro for painting our dreams. 🖌️🎨

I created mini “Jungle Cat” key charms for the exhibition, available exclusively at the Textile Museum Gift Shop. 😻

Come check out my pieces and all the other artists too! 🌈
