My latest story for Vancouver Is Awesome takes me to Jeju on Broadway, where I sat down with Chef Dylan to talk about food, family, ambition, and the influence of his mother, who has spent nearly five decades cooking.
@jeju.vancouver

Today, they share a kitchen at Jeju. And while Dylan continues to push his cooking forward, it's his mother's instincts, experience, and love for food that remain at the heart of it all.

There's a beautiful Korean word, *jeong*, that speaks to the love and connection built over time. After hearing Dylan talk about his mother, I understood a little more about what that means. ❤️

Some places have a way of staying with you long after you've left. 💫🌿

For me, Sooke Harbour House has become one of them.
@sookeharbourhouse

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time there, walk the gardens, meet the team, and sit down for a beautiful dinner from Chef Leroy Borrega. What I discovered was a place that respects its past but is very much looking toward the future. @chefleroyborrega

And yes, I even saw the table where my hero Anthony Bourdain once sat.

My latest feature for Vancouver Is Awesome is a little different. Part history, part culinary journey, and a very personal account of my visit to one of British Columbia's most storied dining destinations.

Ps. For the record, the answer to my own title question is without a doubt, YES. Go get em brother !@chefleroyborrega

Hope you enjoy the read. ❤️

And personally, it’s been one of our favourite restaurants in the city for years.

Two chefs. Two perspectives. One icon.
