If you never took a chance you never had a chance…

Happy birthday @mellodramatic.eth 🥳🙌🏾

Thank you for believing in us and taking this chance. If you really know me, you know my brotha Melvin has been ten toes down beside me for over 16 years strong. I couldn’t be more thankful for his friendship. Not only has he always shown me brotherly love (since TU freshman year) but that love extends to our community, my family and even my dog/our good buddy Kunta. The pictures here say it all.

From day one, we’ve been locked in, sharing visions, chasing purpose and using every gift God gave us to build something bigger than ourselves. From business moves to wild stories, from sleepless nights to community wins, we’ve always known this journey was about more than just us. We spend so much time celebrating what’s in our face that often the real movement behind the scenes goes unnoticed. He never takes it personally, he just finds more ways to see us shine.

Now we’re in a season where the work is starting to make sense to others, but just know, none of it happens without him. Melvin built blacksoulsummer.com from the ground up. Not for himself, but for our people to reclaim ownership over their event data. Literally a FREE platform for others to build on.

No handouts, no shortcuts, just hard work and heart. It’s never been glamorous, but he’s stayed faithful to the mission, to our people and to me, even when I’m deep in my purpose-work scheming (or just straight up ranting 😂). He’s the one who brings my madness into order.

Melvin, you are genuinely one of the kindest, most solid humans I’ve ever known. I thank God for you daily and today I’m asking everyone reading this to do the same.

Wish my brother the happiest of birthdays and give him his flowers for staying true through it all. Our community is better because of your contributions.
