If fertility treatment ended without the baby you dreamed of, you may be living a life you never expected to have.

You expected IVF to work.
You expected to become a mom.
You expected your future to include children.

And when it didn’t, you weren’t only grieving the children you dreamed of. You were left trying to figure out what your life could look like without motherhood.

That part of infertility doesn’t get talked about enough.

Because when fertility treatment ends, there isn’t a roadmap for what comes next.

You have to figure out how to make plans again. How to enjoy things without feeling guilty. How to navigate friendships and family relationships. How to answer questions about children. How to picture yourself getting older. And eventually, how to build a life that feels like yours again.

I know because I had to figure it out too.

The life I have today is not the life I spent years imagining.

But I’ve learned that a life without the children you dreamed of does not have to become a life you spend wishing were different.

You can find connection.
You can find purpose.
You can make plans you’re excited about.
You can discover parts of yourself that got lost during years of infertility and IVF.

And you can become proud of the woman you are, even if she isn’t the woman you once expected to be.

What happens when IVF fails and motherhood is no longer your path?

When my 7-year journey through fertility treatments ended without a baby, I was unprepared for what it would take to rediscover who I was without the children I had always dreamed of.

My fertility clinic spoke about donor egg and adoption services, but when those paths were not for me, I was left completely on my own to navigate a childless life and rebuild my identity beyond motherhood. They never followed up with a check-in or resources to help me through this.

That is why I am honored to be leading a panel discussion for World Childless Week.

On this panel, I'll be joined by 4 incredible, childless women. Our journeys to childlessness are different: endometriosis, adenomyosis, male factor infertility, singlehood, and unexplained infertility.

Together, we will share how we moved from identifying as hopeful moms to living fully as confident women who no longer apologize for the lives we are creating.

This discussion is not about what was lost. It is about what is possible.

We will talk about:

- Letting go of old expectations.

- Discovering new purpose.

- Embracing a version of womanhood that is whole, unapologetic, and strong.

When my fertility treatments ended without a child, I wasn’t just grieving the baby I dreamed of.

I was also left in silence.

No resources.
No community.
No voices I could relate to.

And when you don’t hear anyone talking about this part of the story, when you aren’t offered any support or next steps, it can make you believe that you failed. That you’re the only one who couldn’t figure it out. That somehow, you just didn’t try hard enough.

But that’s not true. And this year during National Infertility Awareness Week, I’m so proud to be changing the narrative and creating connection for other women like me who are childless after infertility.
