We always give thanks for the good times. As summer draws to a close, this marks the first gathering of the Rastafari family in Brooklyn a time for a picnic, music, culture, and unity. The organizers’ goal is for this to become an annual event; it is an *irie* experience for us all. Blessings, family may Jah guide us.

It is shared.. you can always tell the Tree by the fruit it bears.. and you have birth, nurtured, protected so many powerful fruit.. as you are a MIGHTY TREE.
Happy Birthday to my Goddess Mother @idamaempress, to a mother whose hands, heart, and spirit stay full because she gives so much to everyone around her. Today, I pray that God pours back into you everything you’ve poured out — multiplied, softened, and made easy.

May calm wrap itself around you like a gentle blanket.
May cool, steady peace follow you into every room.
May perseverance rise in you without strain, without burden, without exhaustion.

Proud Mama!!!

There is something beautiful about watching a child’s imagination come to life on paper.

Here’s our daughter proudly read a creative story she wrote using her spelling words, and it was a reminder of why we chose this journey.

We are deeply grateful for the incredible educators at @savingourbabiesinc who have poured into the children of our homeschool collective over the years—creating spaces where curiosity is nurtured, voices are valued, and creativity is celebrated. Their dedication has helped cultivate confident learners who see themselves not just as students, but as creators, storytellers, and thinkers. Thank you to one of our OG mama’s Empress @idamaempress for capturing this moment but more importantly for continuing to pour into the children of our greater community. We see and appreciate you!

As parents, one of our greatest desires is to protect and nurture the unique gifts, passions, and dreams that live inside our children. We want them to know that their ideas matter, their creativity is powerful, and their voices deserve to be heard.

This story was more than a spelling assignment—it was a glimpse into a growing imagination and a future filled with possibility. ❤️

🌱 Outdoor Learning in Full Bloom! 🌱

Our scholars enjoyed a beautiful outdoor excursion at our local community garden, where we are proud members. Spending time in nature allowed our students to learn firsthand about plants, ecosystems, and the importance of caring for the earth while strengthening their connection to the community.

A special shout-out and heartfelt appreciation to Aberdeen Street Community Garden for continuing to provide a welcoming space for learning, growth, and community building.

We also extend our gratitude to our dedicated parent teachers, Baba Johari, Queen Mother Empress Idama, Mama Makeda and Mama PJ, for facilitating such a meaningful experience. Their wisdom, guidance, and commitment helped make the day both educational and memorable for our scholars.

From planting and observing nature to learning about the purpose of roots, stems, leaves, and flowers, our students left with new knowledge, beautiful memories, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Congratulations to the Shashamane Foundation for another successful fundraiser for the JRDC School in Shashamane, Ethiopia. I had the honor of reading a letter of support from His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie Haile Selassie and the Royal Ethiopian Trust. The Letter was accompanied by a $1000.00 financial donation from the RET. Special thanks to Sister Idama, Ras Aljam, Blaza Radio, and Culcha Palace for their dedication to educating Ethiopia's children
