I usually only go to film premieres of films I scored. But yesterday’s gala premiere of Polong, directed by Zulkarnian, was simply unforgettable. This should be one of the best Malaysian movies I’ve watched so far. The story is fabulous, and every plot is beautifully executed. I was exhausted throughout the whole movie because my nerves could never relax lol.

Kudos to my fellow friends, Megat and his team, AM, (my student yes my proud monkey!!), Mike and everyone on sound. The foley, omgggg, is so sophisticated, and the sound design is just right. Unlike most films that force emotion or max out jump scares, this one lets the story drive you crazy, with sound and music supporting it superbly. Rencheiz’s score was amazing, carrying the film from start to end, blending so well into the sound. I can see how much passion you have in your work, and that little song you did, I love it.

Amazing job, Zul!!! Your execution, art direction, Johan’s editing oh my… and the plot twist, are so smooth, no cheapskate!!!. The sub-story from Maria’s POV is excellent. That end-credit reverse roll… SICK.

Truly proud to witness this milestone in Malaysian cinema. Thanks for having me.
