CVTà isn't just a street art festival anymore. Hear me out! 👀

This year, we opened an art gallery in our little village in southern Italy. And I documented what happened behind the scenes.

Here's a 3-minute glimpse of that week, from setting up our very first exhibition to community dinners, artists at work, and a special visit from Daddy G of Massive Attack.

Last week, we cut the ribbon of NO PANIC, the new gallery in Civitacampomarano.

For us, this is more than the opening of an exhibition space. It is an important milestone, and a clear sign of the new direction that Alice Pasquini, artistic director of CVTà, has chosen after ten years of festival.

Over the years, CVTà Street Fest has brought artists, visitors, and energy into the streets of a village marked by depopulation, turning Civitacampomarano into a place known for its connection with public art.

With NO PANIC, a new phase begins: closer to research, listening, and a slower relationship with the place.

The opening exhibition grows out of this history. It brings together works by artists who, over the past ten years, have painted in the village and helped shape the identity of CVTà.

Some works arrived from afar. Others were created before the opening, when artists worked on objects found in the village: roof tiles, fabric scraps, broken vases, stones.

This is also the meaning of From Walls to Matter: a title that plays with the double meaning of “matter”, as material and as what truly matters. It tells of a passage from wall to object, towards slower, more rooted work, able to hold the stories of its place.

The exhibition will remain open until October 27. After that, NO PANIC will enter its new phase, in dialogue with the artist residency program that will accompany the future of CVTà.

We believe this is one of the most urgent challenges for street art today. After years in which many festivals have been pushed to grow through numbers and visibility, perhaps it is time to ask what it means to leave a mark.

For us, this change of rhythm begins here: with a gallery in the heart of the village, a residency that will give artists more time, and an idea of street art that is less spectacular and more human in scale.

A street art capable of rebuilding a deeper relationship with places, people, and the stories that pass through them.
