The HSID Dallas team is beyond thrilled to announce that we were awarded the ✨IDS 2026 Impact Award✨! 🏆

This incredible honor celebrates our collaboration on the St. Jude Dream Home Project with Interior Designer Donna Moss and Beckett Graham Luxury Home Builders. Five HSID Dallas students teamed up with 5 design mentors to design the upstairs of a dream home, with the proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 🤍

We’re so incredibly proud of everyone who poured their time, talent, creativity, and heart into this special project. What an honor to be part of something that makes such a meaningful impact! ✨

Congratulations to our students, their design mentors, industry partners, to our amazing partners Donna Moss & Beckett Graham Homes, and everyone else who helped make this project possible!🫶🏼

Last month, the Interior Design Society hosted our annual national conference in Las Vegas. And oh what a time we had! Between the education, the camaraderie, the team building, the networking and the awards (6 for our own Debbe Daley!!!) we had a time!
If you’ve never been to an IDS conference, you really are missing out. There’s nothing that gets your business momentum going like a designer who’s been inspired by other designers!
JOIN US NEXT AUGUST IN BOSTON!

We believe the details matter. That means taking the time to get every piece right, from start to finish, and delivering a finished product we’re proud to put our name on.

Thank you @idsnational for trusting us to bring your awards to life.

One passport. Five destinations. Endless inspiration.

No flights required! Our IDS Charlotte Passport to Design experience, hosted by Gabriella White, took us on a journey through France, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and right back home to North Carolina!

From beautifully curated textile flat lays and thoughtfully paired wines to globally inspired bites, every destination told a story through color, texture, craftsmanship, and culture.

But the true beauty of the evening wasn’t just what we experienced—it was who we experienced it with.

We gathered in intimate conversations, shared the stories behind our design journeys, discovered what inspires one another, and explored how we can continue creating meaningful connections within our IDS Charlotte community.

Because great design connects us to places, but community connects us to people. 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to Gabriella White for bringing this incredible experience to life!

Where should our design passport take us next?

Today we welcome Sarah Weltner Chaffee, founder and principal designer of Weltner Interiors, based in Kansas City. In this episode, Sarah shares her transition from architecture to interior design, the obvious and not-so-obvious differences between the two, and how she leaned into her network, vendors, and workrooms to learn what she didn’t know about the business side of design. We also discuss her perspective on balancing creativity with the demands of running a business, and Sarah shares her latest creative outlet: product design. Listen on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or direct on our website using the link in bio.

What an honor to be recognized with two awards from @idsnational this year!

I’m so excited to share that my powder room design received First Runner-Up, and I took home the award for Social Media!

Being recognized for my design work is always incredibly special, but receiving an award for social media was such a wonderful surprise. I really enjoy sharing my projects, ideas, and little glimpses into my world as a designer, so it means a lot to know that you enjoy following along.

A big thank you to IDS for the recognition, and to everyone who continues to support my work. I’m so grateful!

Day 4 - Fantastic seminar with @luannnigara including our own @designbizsurvivalguide and others at @hookerfurniture and our @idsnational President’s and Board Dinner at @string_and_splinter . So grateful for this family and the hard work all of our volunteer chapter presidents and leaders do, as well as our National Board. We missed those who couldn’t be there. 💕

Another beautiful day at @HighPointMarket! 🤍✨

There’s something so special about being surrounded by beautiful design, inspiring people, and opportunities to learn and grow!

I started my day @idsnational with fresh donuts 🍩 and wonderful conversations, connecting with fellow design enthusiasts and learning more about @thedesignerscollaborative and its many benefits.

From there, I enjoyed taking in the stunning furniture and unique pieces at @phillipsco and @tovfurniture. So much beauty and inspiration in every direction! 😍

One of the highlights of the day was an incredibly insightful panel discussion moderated by Nikki Chu,and panelists Eve Jean, Swati Goorha, and Mikel Welch. Hearing their perspectives on minorities in design, the unique challenges we navigate, and the importance of representation was both meaningful and inspiring. I walked away with new insights, a fresh perspective, and plenty to reflect on.

I’m grateful for days like these that remind me why I love this industry so much. It’s not just about beautiful spaces; it’s about the people we meet, the stories we share, the connections we build, and the ways we continue to learn from one another. ❤️

Leaving High Point with fresh inspiration, and so much to look forward to!
