October is an especially hard month for Maricela to be locked up away from family and loved ones. It’s a month filled with many special birthdays, including those of her partner Des (on Halloween) and Mari herself (October 17th). There are two important things we can do to support Mari as she spends this special month inside Johnson County Jail’s segregated housing (solitary) unit. First, we really need to raise a lot more money for her upcoming state trial. Please donate as much as possible and keep sharing this link far and wide: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-maricelas-family-while-she-fights-for-justice (link in bio) Second, send her birthday letters! Johnson County Jail, TX Maricela Rueda, 202502018 P.O. Box 247 Phoenix, MD 21131 •Include her first and last name as well as ID number, page numbers, date, and a return address at the top of EACH sheet. •Include a return address on the envelope too •You can type and print out letters (no colored ink). Handwritten letters must be written in blue or black ink - no stickers, glitter, etc.  •ONE side of the sheet only. Leave generous margins so that nothing is cut off when scanned.  Please organize birthday fundraisers if you can! !!Please make your own posts about Mari (with links to the fundraiser!) this month!!

The photo and song accompanying this post were chosen by Mari’s 13 yr old daughter. Up until recently, we have been raising money for her needs (clothes, activities, etc.), as well as Mari’s commissary and family travel to jail. 20 days ago Mari’s sister Diana posted a campaign update to let everyone know that we need to raise more money for URGENT legal needs. Specifically, we must raise $100,000 asap for additional counsel to build a strong legal team for Mari as she awaits her state case. Since September 26 we have raised $11,112 a little over 11% towards that goal. Mari’s birthday is October 17th, this Saturday. Please donate as much as you can, share this link, organize birthday fundraisers, and do what you can to help! https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-maricelas-family-while-she-fights-for-justice (Link in bio)

In June Maricela Rueda was sentenced to 70 years in prison in her federal trial as a Prairieland defendant. As of today she has been in jail 453 days. Mari is currently locked up in Johnson County (Texas) Jail’s “segregated housing” unit awaiting her state trial. Your donations are *urgently* needed for that upcoming state trial! Please contribute as much as possible and share this link! https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-maricelas-family-while-she-fights-for-justice (link in bio) Donations so far have gone to supporting her young daughter’s activities and needs (like clothes), jail calls, Mari’s commissary, and transportation expenses, including when Mari was locked up farther away in Wichita Falls. Now we must raise a lot more asap for the state trial. Together we raised $7,365 over the past 4 days, which is great. We still have a ways to go before we get Mari what she needs so I am posting about her every day. Please do what you can - make your own posts, organize fundraisers, and help spread the word. Please also listen to and share Mari’s poems and commentaries recorded for @prisonradio! Mari’s birthday is October 17. Please organize birthday fundraising events if possible! You can send birthday letters for her here: Johnson County Jail, TX Maricela Rueda, 202502018 P.O.

Funds are URGENTLY needed for legal costs for Prairieland defendant Maricela Rueda’s state case. She needs us now more than ever to show up for her! Please donate as much as possible to her campaign asap! https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-maricelas-family-while-she-fights-for-justice (link in bio) Please share this link! Mari has been in seg (solitary confinement) since she was sentenced in June to 70 years in prison at her federal trial as one of the Prairieland Defendants. Johnson County Jail officials deemed her a “threat to staff and other inmates and an escape risk.” Every time she leaves her cell they strip search and shackle her. Please listen to Mari’s commentaries and poems on Prison Radio: https://www.prisonradio.org/correspondent/maricela-rueda/ Please help spread the word even if you can’t donate. Mari’s birthday is October 17. This will be second birthday in jail. You can send birthday letters for her here: Johnson County Jail, TX Maricela Rueda, 202502018 P.O. She will not receive the physical letter. Your letters are scanned and sent to her on a tablet.

As much as the U.S. encourages us to vote and politicians pretend to represent us, many are beholden to Israel, especially when they receive AIPAC funds. AIPAC: American Israel Public Affairs Committee is a bipartisan lobbying group that advocates for Pro-Israel policies in the U.S. It uses financial incentives and political pressure to get our politicians to do Israel’s bidding. Politicians obey and support the Palestinian genocide. Most U.S. politicians are approached by AIPAC and pressured to prioritize supporting Israel over the wishes of constituents. Locally, Representative Norma Torres, has received over $430,000 directly from AIPAC. Learn more via trackaipac.com. It’s election season, let politicians know we want them to stop funding genocide. Funds are URGENTLY needed for Prairieland defendant Maricela Rueda’s state case!! Please donate as much as possible to her campaign asap: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-maricelas-family-while-she-fights-for-justice (link in bio) Please share this campaign! From an earlier post: “Back in February of 2024, a dog bit Maricela in the neck when she was delivering packages for UPS. It was a life threatening bite. Despite the severity of the painful injury, she never blamed the dog or even the dog’s owner. I was deeply moved by her equanimity and compassion for the dog. Her love and her strength are amazing.” Here is a poem Mari wrote shortly before she was sentenced to 70 years in prison at her federal trial in June. *FREE THE BUNNIES!!!* 5/13/2026 Wichita Co. edit of 3/15/2026 Tarrant Co. writing I remember the first time I saw a hanged trophy kill Driving in a work truck on country roads in so called Paradise or Springtown one - or - the other The coyote hanging by her rear leg on the fence line made me slam the brakes I was so confused and afraid Telling someone about what I saw they chose to say “It’s only humane - to warn the rest of the pack...” My attorney closed trial with a statement: Maricela is not a lab rat. The court room is not a laboratory. I’m not sure that was ever true I identify a lot with bunnies that labs wrongfully test on too I refuse this - humanity that does such things to us creatures, choose to deny nature, so we will fear our right to freedom All Power to the Prairieland 19 and ALL the critters on the frontlines! <3 mari!

Looking for a way to actively undermine the machinations of state repression and the US prison system? Looking to connect with our incarcerated comrades and to support the Prairieland prisoners? Please join us on Sunday, October 11th from 2-4 PM for the third gathering of IE Prisoner Support! One essential goal of the IE Prisoner Support community has been to provide the necessary support to our more recently incarcerated comrades, while also introducing participants to the lives, histories, and cases of political prisoners with whom they may not be familiar, with our comrades who the state attempted (and failed) to separate from our movements and communities long ago. In this spirit, we will be writing letters to political prisoners Autumn Hill and Rev. Joy Powell during our October gathering. Join us to learn about their cases, to learn about their interests and who they are as people, and, most importantly, to write them letters of support. Participants will get the opportunity to hear directly from members of Autumn Hill’s support committee and will also get to hear Autumn Hill in her own words 🖤 Much thanks to every person who has joined us for one or both of our first two meetings and to our gracious hosts at @nachoannsfabrics , we look forward to another successful gathering with you all! As space is limited, please book your spot on Nacho Ann’s website or at the link in their bio if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, please let us know if you plan to attend so that we can prepare accordingly. As always, snacks and letter writing supplies will be provided! Where: Nacho Ann’s Fabrics, 3760 12th Street Riverside, CA When: Sunday, October 11th from 2-4 PM

Halloween Costume Drive We are collecting new or used costumes for families that may be in need. Lots of folks are feeling the pressure of the economy and this is an opportunity to clean out our closets and make people’s day. Costumes are incredibly expensive and families in need may have to cut corners in order to buy gas, food, or pay rent. We figure this is a great way we can help each other through these tough times. To coordinate donation drop offs: You can contact me or @rebelalliancemutualaid or @ierg4pe Donations are due by 10/09. All donations will be available at Riverside People’s Free Market on 10/10. Any remaining donations will be distributed by distros to families in need. Thank you for all of your support!
