Gotta appreciate the north half of the JMT too 🩷 hopefully Marija will forgive me if I accidentally put a photo of the south half in here, it sometimes all blurs together 😂

The north half is also beautiful, but it has a lot more people than the south half and less alpine. More people means more noise, more trash, less campsite availability, and more mistreatment of animals. I learned that the pesticides in our foods cause wild animals to lose their fur which can be deadly for winter. Please share that info with anyone you see leaving trash or feeding wildlife.

Transitioning back to normal life in a city has been hard. Everything on the trail is peaceful, quiet, and has a routine. Your body becomes very regulated and your overstimulation disappears. Coming back to lights, cars, city noises, and phone notifications that expect responses is a lot. I think the trail takes all that extra overwhelming nonsense away so you can learn who you really are. I hope everyone gets to experience that and makes some downtime for themselves.

“Anotha one” -DJ Khaled

I had the absolute privilege of hiking the JMT a second time. Words cannot express how amazing the feeling of being on the trail for a straight month is, much like how photos do not do the scenery justice. Here’s some photos of the views from the south half of the JMT. The south half has my heart. It is so quiet and peaceful and beautiful. I am in love with the alpine. Definitely more photos to come.

And I am so happy that I got to do this hike with some of my favorite people. Thank you for being you and for making this trip what it was, the best. 🩷
