Behind every great event is a whole community of people helping make it happen, and we want to give a massive shoutout to everyone who helped bring Music Makes Glasgow to life!

A huge thank you to Claire from @thefosteringnetwork, Rob from @humanitix for all the behind-the-scenes ticketing support, Katie from Whetley Foundaion, Charlotte & the incredible Stride Band from @paragon_music_dance, animation with Normal Day and Patrica, our wonderful art therapist, for being part of the day and supporting what we do.

A very special shoutout to @ifrahcomedy, our incredible host on the day, for helping keep everything running and bringing such great energy to the event. And of course, to @eoin_carey, our photographer, who spent the day capturing all the brilliant performances, smiling faces and special moments at Drygate.

We also want to thank @paolonutini, Drygate and Faye, from @sgr_recordshop , for their fantastic raffle prizes, helping us make the fundraiser even more special. One very lucky winner even went home with Paolo Nutini's signed guitar!

Music Makes Glasgow is about so much more than what's happening on stage. It's about the people, partnerships and community that come together to create opportunities for young people to share their creativity and feel celebrated.

To everyone who contributed their time, our wonderful group of volunteers, those that shared their expertise, energy and support, thank you. We couldn't have done it without you!

Because Music Matters.

Well Glasgow, you showed up and then some! The first edition of Music Makes Glasgow was special, but yesterday you took it to another level at @drygateglasgow We’re still processing the emotions, counting the donations and looking through the photos from yesterday’s event. There are too many people involved to thank you all individually, but for now:

- Congratulations to all the young performers - you absolutely smashed it!! In total we had 46 (!!) young people perform on the day. The hard work and dedication that you put in really paid off on the day; you showed up and pushed through the nerves to create something really special. The way you supported one another and celebrated each other was a joy to see. You should all feel so proud of yourselves 🏆

- Thank you to our brilliant professsionals: @alicefayemusic @hiitskitti @paqueofficial and our wonderful MC @ifrahcomedy aka ‘the Lady’ aka unc!WOW! How could the young team not be inspired, sharing the stage with such brilliant, generous artists. Handing the baton down to the next generation with some style ✨

- Thank you to all the volunteers, funders, workshop leaders, partners, house band members and stallholders who made the event run so well. For a staff team of 2 to organise an event on this scale is really ambitious, and we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without you!

- Thanks to our amazing audience who listened so attentively, bought our lovely new @thelogolassie merch, and celebrated the talent on show, showing their support for The Sound Lab’s mission.

Congrats to our RAFFLE prize winners:

1) @paolonutini signed guitar - IDRISS (who also performed on the day!)
2) Records from @sgr_recordshop - MICHELLE SHEDDEN
3) Drygate goody bag - DEREK BUCHANAN

We will be in touch with all of you to make arrange.ments for collection.

And finally thanks to all of you, for showing your support and for being a part of The Sound Lab community. If you couldn’t join us, but still want to support our mission - widening access to music education - you can find the JustGiving link in our bio.
