Our story has finally reached the present day, but we’ve still got a huge amount to say after such a brilliant year! The secret warehouse parties we were running the previous year and our partnership with Freedom Mills instilled a new sense of drive and we ended up packing 4 events in the space of 2 months and held a boat party with our residents on the River Thames, this was the first Brotherhood event in London in over 5 years and it was so much fun, we may have to do another one this summer, so keep your eyes peeled for that! We kicked off the parties in Leeds with an all night long set from Dan Shake. This must have been the 5th time he has played for us, but by far the best. 5 hours at the helm, he didn’t drop a beat once and took us all the way from brazillian rhythms to raging acid basslines! Next up was the Amsterdam based duo Detroit Swindle, who provided us with a night of groovy house and disco. They were supported by the up and coming Rufus CB, who we’re definitely keeping an eye on over the next year! Each year there’s always one artist who blows us away at Gottwood Festival, and we just have to invite them to play at Brotherhood later that year. Over the years it’s been Bradley Zero, Jayda G and O’flynn, and in 2019 it was DJ Boring. Despite producing some of the most chilled out tunes, that man knows how to get a dance floor moving, so we had to get him to play at our final party at Freedom Mills. Not content with 3 parties at Freedom Mills, we decided to head back to Wire for a one off label party with In Dust We Trust headed up by Chaos In The CBD & John Sable to round up the year. Needless to say, all 4 parties sold out, and it’s thanks to you, our dedicated crowd consistently bringing endless energy, that Brotherhood is what it is today! As we enter 2020, and our 8th year of running parties, we are absolutely over the moon to be hosting one of the scenes most prolific tastemakers, Jeremy Underground at Freedom Mills. This party is going to be special, don’t miss it! Tickets : https://link.dice.fm/wy7FdcLB63

Here’s the first in a series of posts dedicated to the visual artists we’ve worked with over the years. First up: @cressidadjambov, who designed our logo and original b-side labels (WSDM001-4), as well as the full sleeve art and inserts of WSDM004 (ft Alex Coulton, @chevel and @simocellmusic). She’s an old friend of the label and a wonderful illustrator. Check out more of her work at cressidadjambov.com

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🚀 @boxedldn x @localactionrec: 1900-2300 🚀 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @boxedldn is a club night and label run by @slackk, @mrmitchmusic, Oil Gang and @logos262. Beginning in 2013, Boxed explores every facet of instrumental #grime, acting as a mecca for those wanting to hear the deep, dark and heavy. The devastating bangers of @spookybizzle are paired with weighty bass experimentations of acts like @iglew92 to create a diverse and unpredictable atmosphere, making Boxed one of the most in demand brands in London’s underground scene.
