POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What remains of us when we're no longer here?

Perhaps the stories we've told, the things we've created, the people we've loved. Or the buildings that, decades from now, will be home to people we'll never get to meet.

And yet, even what stands the test of time can be forgotten.

There's something deeply moving about the thought that, almost a century ago, an architect was drawing part of the Bucharest we live in today.

And that, so many decades later, we had the joy of working with his drawings, discovering their beauty and carefully bringing them together within the pages of a book.

______

Architect Ion Giurgea: An Architectural Monograph

Built around the research of architect Mădălin Ghigeanu, this was one of those projects that brought together two professional worlds I love deeply: architecture and graphic design.

But beyond the joy of working on a book, I also felt a profound sense of responsibility. The responsibility to honour someone's memory.

Not to overshadow his story with our own creative gestures, but to give it a form through which it could be discovered, understood, and carried forward.

We were overjoyed to learn that the book received the Prize of the Union of Romanian Architects, as well as a nomination at the Bucharest Architecture Annual 2026.

Beyond the recognition of our work, what moved me most was thinking of the man who is no longer here to celebrate it. And knowing that, after so many decades, his work will be rediscovered, appreciated, and celebrated.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful ways to honour a creator is to keep their work alive, to continue telling their story, and to give it the chance to inspire future generations.

I'm deeply grateful to Mădălin and the Igloo team for the opportunity and trust to be part of this journey.

I like to believe that this book is more than a monograph.

It is a meeting across almost a century between people who share the same love for architecture and for creating things with meaning.

HOUSE | New Identity Through An Exostructure

A new chapter for an unfinished house in Blaj. Working with what was already built, the project introduces a series of precise interventions and a steel exostructure, transforming the existing shell into a new architectural Identity.

Shoutouts and big appreciation to magazines: @Pietrobot - #IglooMag - @industrialcomplexx - #exposémagazine - #ChoonReview - and #ChainDLK for your shining reviews of Salvaging The Future. Seeing the value in this work enough to yield in-depth articles about it takes actual artistic vision. That alone is admirable, and I see you. 🙏

Morning Glory, Morning Glory, țin munca bună sus, realizatory! 🥂🥳

Our first @igloo.magazine cover is fresh off the press, and it brings back so many great memories of Bold Blue, the office interior that struck just the right balance between the client’s Scandinavian roots and our own language of sleek, contemporary shapes and bold colors.

The cover features an image we haven’t shared before, showing our custom-designed tables for the workshops area, made to work as individual pieces for smaller groups or come together as one long communal table.

As for the whole story, I won’t spoil it here. You’ll have to grab your own copy and discover it.
