Last Saturday I was cheering on Erin Meisner and 13 other Ottawa community leaders who trained for months to step into the ring for cancer care and research at The Ottawa Hospital. The night raised an outstanding $1.7 million!!!! ✨✨

This year, I had an extra reason to cheer at @fightforthecure.official.

Watching @ignitefighterin step into the ring and come away with the win was pretty amazing. I was honoured to sit at her table with her personal cheering section, including her mom and sister, friends and colleagues, all there for Erin.

I love seeing women take on hard things, push themselves outside their comfort zones and go after something that challenges them. And I love seeing other women get behind them when they do. That kind of support matters, whether you’re stepping into a boxing ring, building a business or taking on whatever comes next.

Congratulations, Erin. So happy to have been in your corner!

What an incredible journey!

I am beyond excited, humbled, and grateful to have been part of what I truly believe was and is the event of the year !!! Stepping into the ring for the main event was an adrenaline rush like no other. After 8 months of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and countless hours of training, everything came down to one unforgettable night.

This experience was about so much more than boxing. It was about pushing limits, supporting an amazing cause, and being surrounded by an incredible community.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me throughout this journey. To my amazing wife and kids, my family, friends, co-workers, suppliers, and customers, thank you for your encouragement, belief, and support every step of the way.

A special thank you to my coaches, Chantal, Frankie, Mike I., Adam, and Roberto for their guidance, yelling, motivating us, and dedication. You pushed me to become stronger than I ever thought possible. For team blue we've became very close training for 8 months and forever greatful for all your support and motivation. From outside trainners Marc, Nestor, curd Hos who all helped me get in the best fighting shape possible.

And a huge thank you to the man of the hour, Trevor Clark. Your passion, leadership, and commitment to this cause are truly inspiring. Along with the incredible support of Sussie and Scott W., you helped put together the biggest Fight for the Cure ever, raising an astounding $1.7 million for cancer research in Ottawa. I could not be more excited to capture the big fight night this Saturday for @fightforthecure.official 💥🥊🔥 It has been an absolute privilege to get to know all of the fighters and witness their individual journeys over the past 9 months. Let’s goooo!!

Ottawa showed up, and so did the rest of Canada. 🍁

Two days later, we’re still reflecting on an incredible Strategies for Success 2026: Future-Ready Conference, one of the largest events in the Advocis Ottawa Chapter’s history and a powerful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together.

The Brookstreet Hotel was buzzing as financial advisors, financial planners, industry leaders, partners and volunteers came together, with attendees joining us from almost every province across Canada.

And what a few days it was. From our Chapter leaders convening in Canada’s capital and Mike Downie kicking off the conference with an evening of storytelling, to a full day of thought-provoking conversations on the future of wealth, underwriting, technology, AI, aging, practice growth and succession, there was a tremendous amount packed into the experience.

But beyond what happened on stage, some of the best moments happened in between. The conversations in the hallways. Colleagues reconnecting. New relationships being formed. Ideas being exchanged between people from different parts of the country and different stages of their careers. The energy throughout the Brookstreet was something special.

Strategies for Success returned for the first time in several years, and our Advocis Ottawa Chapter brought it back in a big way.

None of it happens without the incredible work of our Chapter volunteers, the speakers who shared their expertise, our sponsors and partners who supported the experience, and everyone who travelled from near and far to be part of it.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Strategies for Success 2026: Future-Ready Conference such a memorable few days in Ottawa.

And a very special thank you to Jasleen Singh, who generously volunteered her time and talent to photograph the entire event, helping us capture so many of the moments and memories that made these few days so special. 📸

We think it’s safe to say Strategies for Success is officially back! 🙌
