6 years ago this weekend, @kellirosson_ and I stepped into Faith Church Lawrenceburg for the first time. We didn’t know it at the time, but our lives would be forever changed.

Just over 8 months later, I had the opportunity to step into the Youth Director role at the campus. That first picture is from my first night in that position. If these past 6 years have taught me anything it’s that God is faithful to provide for those who are obedient.

We’ve seen students saved, baptized, and mobilized. Leaders have been developed and are pouring into our students. We’ve welcomed our first child into this world. My heart burns brighter than ever for the local church and it’s an honor to serve at @igotofaith.

I can’t wait to see what God does in the next 6 years! 🙌🏼

Today we’re celebrating Matt Rosson and what God is doing through Faith Church and FTHYTH at their Lawrenceburg, TN campus.

Matt has served in youth ministry for five years, all five at Faith Church, and right now they’re seeing a shift in their student culture. Students are reading the Bible with intention, applying it to their lives, and carrying a burden to reach their friends who are far from God like never before.

In this season, God has been reminding Matt that leadership starts with going first.

“Before I expect our students or leaders to do something, I better be willing to go first.”

Looking ahead, Matt is believing God will continue raising up leaders with a heart for the Great Commission both locally and internationally. Over the next five years, he’s believing they’ll send more than 30 teenagers overseas as missionaries.

His encouragement to other youth pastors:

“Our work matters. There’s no greater honor than getting to sow seeds of faith into the next generation. We may not always get to see those seeds grow fully, but the Lord is honored by our labor and it is not in vain.”

Matt and his wife also welcomed their first child in August. Join us in praying that they would intentionally disciple her the way they have poured into students over the last five years, and that she would grow up loving the Lord and His Church.

SUNDAY RECAP ⬇️

We had a GOOD Sunday at Faith! From worship to the Word, there’s nothing like gathering together and making room for what God wants to do.

Here’s a little look at today. 🤍

Today we’re celebrating Brayden Benvenuti and what God is doing through Faith Church and Faith Youth.

One of the stories Brayden is celebrating started with a 7th-grade student who had been inconsistent during sixth grade, partly because he was the only one from his school attending. Over the last five or six weeks, he started bringing two or three friends with him to youth service. Two weeks ago, two of those friends stood up to put their faith in Jesus.

Brayden has been in youth ministry for 3.5 years, and right now God is teaching him to care way more about the investment than the return. He may not always get to see the fruit in a student’s life, but that doesn’t mean the investment isn’t worth it.

He’s believing for several of his high school student leaders to experience spiritual growth this semester, step up to lead more, and carry more responsibility.

His encouragement to other youth pastors:

“God works just as much in the mundane. The Wednesdays where in your eyes it doesn’t feel like God moved powerfully, He’s silently working on hearts. Keep plowing!”

Pray for Brayden to continue growing in humility and wisdom.

Fair warning: this video may have you laughing harder than you expect. 😂🍦

Pastor Ty and Pastor Matt took on a blind ice cream taste test to settle an important question… which flavor comes out on top? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Then come try it for yourself tonight! 🍨 Ice cream starts at 5:30 PM at all campuses, so come hang out, meet some new people, and sign up for a Connect Group before service.

Bring a friend, grab a cup of ice cream, and join us for an incredible First Wednesday. Service begins at 6:30 PM. We’ll see you tonight!
