One more day left of GRAMMY voting! I had the honor of working on this beautiful album - The Bluest Sea, by Rotem Sivan - which is on the GRAMMY ballot for Best Alternative Jazz Album. It was written and recorded in only 24 hours, and created in memory of Rotem’s beautiful 1.5 year old son, Eden, who tragically passed away from brain cancer earlier this year. Visit www.RotemSivan.com/FYC for more information, and you can listen to it on all streaming platforms. Thank you for your consideration! ❤️🙏🏻

For your GRAMMY consideration: THE BLUEST SEA by Rotem Sivan - Best Alternative Jazz Album @grammys

A couple months ago I had the pleasure of working on this beautiful project by @rotemsivanguitar . My good friend Itamar called me one night and told me Rotem was doing a 24 hour session to write, record, and produce an entire album about his son, Eden, and he wanted me to be a part of it. Eden was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of brain cancer called ATRT, and unfortunately passed in January at only 19 months. With such a traumatic and heartbreaking story, I knew this album wasn’t just going to be another piece of music I worked on. It was going to be one of those moments that pain is turned into beauty, and I felt honored that I was being asked to be a part of it.

You can hear me on the 2nd and 3rd tracks of the album, “The Bluest Sea” and “The Never” written by myself and @gracieterzian .

What an experience to sit in a room with such talented musicians, all coming together to create something so beautiful and filled with emotion. You could feel the weight of it in the air, and I think what came from that day is something I’m very proud to have been a part of and wanted to share with all of you.

You can now listen to THE BLUEST SEA on all streaming platforms, and be sure to check out the incredible video this clip is from on YouTube, recorded by @doubidoubidouwhaaa. If you’re a GRAMMY voting member, please check out the music, and if you like what you hear, consider voting for it for Best Alternative Jazz Album. <3

For your GRAMMY consideration: THE BLUEST SEA by Rotem Sivan - Best Alternative Jazz Album (this song, Maryanne, is the 4th track on the album) ❤️ @grammys

@rotemsivanguitar and I wrote this song as a thank-you to his therapist, Maryanne, who has helped him through this incredibly difficult year. As many of you know, Rotem and Lore’s beloved 1.5 year old son, Eden, died this past January from a very rare and aggressive form of brain cancer called ATRT. Losing their child has, and continues to be, one of the most painful and difficult experiences two people can go through, and Rotem wanted to dedicate a song to the therapist who has helped them navigate this horrendous ordeal.

With a desire to turn just a little of his depression into something beautiful, Rotem brought a group of friends together to write and record an entire album in 24 hours in Eden’s memory. It was a pretty crazy and ambitious idea to try to pull off, but we did it, and I’m very proud of the finished product.

You can now listen to his album, THE BLUEST SEA, on all streaming platforms. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of it, and if you’re a GRAMMY voting member, please, please check out the music, and if you dig it, consider voting for it for Best Alternative Jazz Album. 🙏🏻❤️🎶

We just released very special project we wrote and recorded in 24 hours with a lot of friends. It's been a hard time for us. losing Eden, missing him in every moment has been absolutely unbearably painful. I'm very thankful to everyone who is helping lifting our spirits, checking in, hanging, playing and creating. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏Little by little the ocean of sadness is a little less dangerous. Much love.

Lag Ba'Omer is the bonfire holiday. But in the Kabbalistic tradition, the fire isn't just something you stand around. It's something you draw close to.

The Zohar teaches that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai's light didn't go out when he died. It went deeper. Into the embers. Into us.

Though the flame is gone, the embers still live on.

That line wrote itself the first time I understood what Lag Ba'Omer was actually about. The journey of the Omer isn't about counting days. It's about finding your way back to your own light. The fire that doesn't go out. The one that burns inside the song.

If you've been feeling far from that fire lately -- distant from your voice, your aliveness, your people -- that's exactly what The Practice Room is for.
A small group. A safe container. Body, breath, voice, and song as a way back to yourself.
Three sessions. $99. Next one is coming up soon.
Want the details? DM me or drop "the practice room" in the comments and I'll send you everything.

Show me the way. Show me the pathway home.

Chag Lag Ba'Omer Sameach.
